Creating Team NXT for the 2017 Survivor Series women's elimination match

Who would be on NXT's team of women in this battle for brand supremacy?

In the final chapter of our three-part discussion on a fantasy booking scenario where NXT was represented in the battle for brand supremacy at Survivor Series 2017, the last topic to talk about is the lineup for Team NXT as far as the women's division is concerned.

While there aren't quite as many options to pick from as the men on the roster, the importance of several women who stand tall above the others should make for an easy picking that won't be all that controversial.

Nevertheless, NXT does still have a multitude of talented women at its disposal, particularly with the more recent signings and the competitors that can be pulled from the Mae Young Classic.

In any case, we must look at the options available and decide which five women would be the best candidates to make up Team NXT in this fantasy booking scenario where the yellow brand would have the best possible shot at competing against Raw and SmackDown.

Without further ado, here are my picks for those Superstars to make up the women's NXT team.

#1 Ember Moon

Ember Moon
Don't you remember one ember sparks a fire...

Not too long ago, Ember Moon looked poised to upset Asuka and not just hand her her first loss by ending her undefeated streak, but also dethroning her to win the NXT Women's Championship.

That didn't come to pass, but in the process of that build, Moon soared through the rankings of the women's roster and is now sitting high atop the mountain as the queen of the jungle.

There would be only two reasons why Moon could possibly be skipped over and not included in this match, which would boil down to an injury or if she were the current NXT women's champion, which would put her in the champions match instead.

Other than that, Moon would not only be a prime candidate for the match, she would have to be considered the front-runner to be the team captain.

#2 Kairi Sane

Mae Young Classic
The Pirate Princess, Kairi Sane

Just like all the other women, working under the assumption that she doesn't win the title, Kairi Sane would have to be a guaranteed member of Team NXT.

She's only had a handful of matches since joining the roster, but in the short time frame she's been in the company, Sane's been treated very well and booked like a true star.

The Mae Young Classic victory stands above and beyond what most other women in NXT have ever accomplished, so Sane is working with a surplus of momentum that would give her a rightful spot on this team few could even try to argue against.

Since Sane is also very fresh, it wouldn't be a shocker if she were booked as the standout member of her group or even the sole survivor if WWE really wanted to push her strong and fast.

At the very least, it would be a good showing for her and fans would instantly start paying attention to her future.

#3 Peyton Royce or Billie Kay

NXT Iconic Duo
NXT's Iconic Duo, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay

Yours truly thinks Peyton Royce is the frontrunner to win the vacated NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: WarGames, which would mean that since champions are taken out of the equation for these elimination matches as they are busy fighting the other champions, it would be Billie Kay to fill this slot.

However, the Iconic Duo would just need to be represented in some fashion, and there's virtually no scenario where they wouldn't have one of them, if not both, on this team.

Assuming someone else on this list were to capture the title, like Sane or Moon, then that would open up room for both Kay and Royce to be on Team NXT.

The Iconic Duo have been ready to be called up to the main roster for months and are undoubtedly the top heels in the women's division for the yellow brand, so their presence in this match would be a guarantee.

#4 Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross
It would be inSAnitY to not put Nikki Cross on Team NXT

Pretty much from the moment SAnitY showed up in NXT, Nikki Cross became one of the most featured women on the roster.

Although she's been unable to reach the mountain top, that is something that has plagued every other woman as well since Asuka was untouchable, so the lack of a women's championship cannot be held against her.

She's still had her fair share of victories and a consistent basis of appearances which have only increased as of late where she has found herself being booked more along the lines of a babyface in the midst of a push.

While that might not translate to a title victory, it at the very least makes her a shoo-in for Team NXT, as it's great to bring a little craziness to the equation that your opponents may not be able to prepare for.

#5 Ruby Riot

Ruby Riot
NXT's Punk Rock Ragdoll Ruby Riot

Plenty of other women could have filled this final spot, but given a question of seniority and credibility, Ruby Riot stands out as the only other option.

Plenty of women from the Mae Young Classic who appear mostly on live events, such as Sage Beckett, Bianca Belair and Abbey Laith, are talented enough to get a shot and put on a fun performance, but Riot is on the true roster, which is something those women cannot boast about themselves.

The same applies to Taynara Conti, although she would have more of a reason to steal a spot on this card than any others since she's aligned with The Undisputed Era.

Even compared to the women who have been in NXT longer, like Aliyah and Liv Morgan, Ruby Riot has a much better track record of wins and losses, coming off as a better contender who would be chosen by William Regal to represent the brand and hopefully secure a victory for Team NXT.

Now that Riot has worked alongside Nikki Cross, a pairing of those two with The Iconic Duo and a team captain of either Ember Moon or Kairi Sane (with the other being the NXT women's champion) could have been an interesting layout for the women's representatives of the developmental brand at Survivor Series.

Alas, this match isn't going to happen, but if it did, do you think Team NXT would have stood a chance against Team Raw and Team SmackDown? Tell us why or why not by leaving a comment below!
