5 Cross-brand matches WWE fans would love to see

Who doesn’t love a good cross-brand match?

The WWE Universe is full of fantasy bookers who love to imagine various scenarios within the world of professional wrestling, and the WWE itself. A lot of that revolves around dream matches or cards that pit some of the top Superstars of both today and yesteryear against one another, with fans eager to see who really is the best in the world.

It's an endless and enjoyable process that can provide people with a great deal of enjoyment, and now in the modern era of WWE, it can become a reality courtesy of the brand split. With Superstars being divided into two rosters, it adds the intrigue for a range of different match-ups that otherwise would've been seen on a weekly basis.

With so much potential, it's great to know that one day we will probably see some of the matches on this list because that's what kind of layout the WWE have provided us with. Obviously, some bouts are more realistic than others, and we've tried to keep that in mind as not everyone can get their wish.

Still, just try and picture how great a Raw vs. SmackDown card would be with these matches featured on it. With that being said, let's take a look at five cross-brand matches WWE fans would love to see.

#5 The New Day vs. American Alpha

This would be an interesting dynamic

The longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history vs. the best tag team on SmackDown. It's a story that writes itself with American Alpha wanting to prove to the world that they can knock off the team that so many people saw as invincible throughout their title reign.

Plus, and most importantly - it'd give New Day a chance to thrive as serious heels.

They don't have to go too monotone and only have to edge towards the seriousness slightly, but it needs to be done opposite another team who are so popular in American Alpha. The numbers game could be played up as being a big problem for Gable & Jordan, and it'd be a fascinating watch as there would be a genuine sense of uncertainty regarding who would win.

Over to the females now for our next entry.

#4 Charlotte Flair vs. Mickie James

Would Charlotte reign supreme once again?

There are so many female Superstars on SmackDown Live that would match up well against Charlotte, but the one we believe people would want to see more than any other is Flair vs. Mickie James. The veteran could use the same storyline as she has been with Becky, but this time round she could transition into more of a babyface role.

It could definitely work, mainly because literally, anyone can work babyface opposite Charlotte as she's that damn good. Plus, Mickie's veteran status will work brilliantly with Charlotte's ever-improving offence and it could be even more of a success if you slap a retirement stipulation onto the bout. It isn't that likely, but it's certainly plausible.

Now to a match between the current World Champions in WWE.

#3 Kevin Owens vs. Bray Wyatt

This is a real dream match for hardcore fans

Kevin Owens and Bray Wyatt have had very limited interactions together during their time in the WWE, and we hope it stays that way leading up to their inevitable match against one another.

We don't know how you'd build it or even how it would work logistically, but we know that we want to see it because the two are just such interesting on-screen characters.

They would bounce off each other brilliantly in promos and could create some of the most seamless back and forths we've ever seen. Then in terms of the actual in-ring product, it would be one of the hardest hitting matches of recent times as both men would just lay into each other for the better part of 15-20 minutes.

Honestly, what more could you possibly want?

It's Bullet Club time.

#2 Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles

We’ve been waiting for this for a long time..

The two former leaders of Bullet Club going head to head inside a WWE ring. Not only would this be the coolest thing of all time but it would also be one of the best matches the WWE has seen in years.

Both guys are insanely talented and the story is right there, so all WWE need to do is pull the trigger and this kind of feud needs to be blown off at WrestleMania.

Why? Because it deserves to be put on a stage that big, that's why. We'd even go so far as to say it should happen this year in Orlando, but it seems as if both guys are destined for different paths at the Citrus Bowl.

None the less, it's certainly a match up that will get the fans talking, with Gallows & Anderson likely playing a big role in this regarding who they'd actually side with.

We conclude with the most obvious choice of all.

#1 The Undertaker vs. John Cena

Just get it done already Vince

So many different things have been said about this match that it seems pointless to go on about it at this point - but go on about it we shall. For some reason, The Undertaker is billed as a Raw Superstar now, which means that a potential match-up against John Cena would lead to a war of the brands.

They've seemed destined to meet for years now, and it needs to happen soon.

WrestleMania 34 seems like the most logical place for ‘Taker's last stand now after the boat seems to have come and gone on this year's event, and it should still feel like a dream match in twelve months time. It's shocking that this hasn't happened already but when it does, it's going to blow the roof off of whichever stadium it takes place in. Fact.
