Jinder Mahal was one of the stars who was pushed into the main event picture when WWE looked to launch their product over in India. This push included the star winning the WWE Championship back in 2017 before he then lost the title to AJ Styles ahead of Survivor Series.
Before Mahal was pushed into the main championship level, the star was perhaps best remembered for his time in 3MB, with him later being fired by the company as part of the budget cuts in 2014.
Like many former stars at the time, Jinder was approached by the company when the brand split came back into effect in 2016 and he was convinced to re-sign.
Mahal returned in the summer of 2016 on the RAW brand and was able to defeat Heath Slater to earn a contract under General Manager Mick Foley. He has since been the runner-up in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and went on to lift the WWE and United States Championships.
