During his time in NXT, Keith Lee was arguably one of the most popular Superstars WWE had to offer. His athletic abilities and his sheer power proved to be an absolutely destructive combination inside the ring. The WWE Universe treated him like a proper babyface Superstar who was more than capable of destroying his opponents.
Near the end of his terrific run in NXT, WWE put both the NXT and the North American Championships on Lee before the company called him up to the main roster. As a RAW Superstar, the former double champion got off to a bumpy start. But he has slowly been making his way back into the title picture.
Lee could undoubtedly pull off the role of a heel Superstar. The best babyfaces can often be great as villains. But given the WWE Universe's response to Lee, the company would be better off if it capitalized on Lee's genuine popularity as a heroic character.
