Let's face it, as soon as it was announced that both men had signed for the company this is the one that everybody wanted. Two men with huge histories in hardcore and deathmatch wrestling are simply destined to tear it up under a stipulation like that.
Whilst it is unknown at the moment just how hardcore AEW will be allowed to go on TNT, so far the company has shown it is more than willing to push the boundaries and go more extreme that WWE's PG product.
Jimmy Havoc has gone on record in an interview with Chris Van Vliet to state that he has requested this match from AEW management, and given that he has been so public about it the chances are it is going to happen.
This is one that doesn't even need tons of storyline surrounding it to be a hit as just announcing it would gain tons of hype from fans.
Even though hardcore wrestling and deathmatches might not be for everyone, there is a major audience for it and when you have two of the very best at that style, it seems a waste not to make it happen.
