Edge went toe-to-toe with John Cena for several years, with many classifying their feud as the rivalry of the new millennium. The two worked very well together inside the ring but their chemistry on the mic was also remarkable. So, wouldn’t it be fitting for The Rated-R superstar to return and face the 'modern-day John Cena', Roman Reigns?

Of course, Cena and Reigns differ in their attire, mic skills, and overall look, but The Big Dog is in the same spot that the leader of the Cenation held all those years ago.

Edge’s return and selection of Reigns as his opponent could be used as a tool to push the Samoan to his absolute limits. It’s predictable that despite Edge being a heel in this scenario, he would be overwhelmingly cheered, pushing The Big Dog back into his polarizing spot. This would make for an interesting storyline, also allowing WWE to get a much-needed rating boost.
