5 Feuds for Dean Ambrose after his heel turn

The Lunatic Fringe has several opponents to face now that he's a heel.
The Lunatic Fringe has several opponents to face now that he's a heel.

Dean Ambrose shocked the WWE Universe when he attacked teammate Seth Rollins after the duo captured the Raw Tag Team Titles three weeks ago. The betrayal came on the heels of Roman Reigns' announcement that he had to relinquish his Universal title in order to battle the recurrence of his leukemia.

While many were shocked by the treachery, you knew it was only a matter of time before Dean turned on his brothers. They were going to pull the trigger a little later but felt the time to do it was the same night that Roman left.

Since Dean is now technically a heel, his dance card of opponents opens up. Now that he's being seen as the bad guy in any feud, he can feud with a lot of people he might not have before.

One thing I didn't get was why the crowds were chanting 'You sold out'. Who did he sell out to? It's not like he joined a group or joined the Authority. He just acted for himself.

Since good ol' Deano is on the dark side now, who can we see him feud with in the near future?

#5 Seth Rollins

The Kingslayer vs. The Lunatic Fringe has already been set in motion.
The Kingslayer vs. The Lunatic Fringe has already been set in motion.

This one we already know is happening. It's already in motion. The only question is when will a match between the two take place exactly? They haven't had any official matches since the initial turn but it will probably be the first feud for Ambrose as a heel.

Seth Rollins has an upcoming match with Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series, so could Dean cost him that match? While it is a possibility, it doesn't seem that likely to me. It would be more personal and make the feud much more heated when/if Ambrose somehow costs Rollins the Intercontinental Title.

He could interfere to cost Seth the match, and maybe that would provoke the latter into challenging Ambrose with the title on the line. Perhaps it happens on an upcoming Raw or perhaps at the upcoming TLC PPV. It won't take much to kick the feud up a notch. Rollins is even more befuddled after Dean's response this past Monday on Raw.

It will probably be more effective for Ambrose to take the title off of Rollins, but it would be just as effective if he is the one who cost Seth both of his titles. The IC title will be the featured belt as long as Brock Lesnar is Universal Champion, so whoever holds it will be the featured Superstar of Raw.

#4 Finn Balor

Balor Club has feuded with almost everyone on Raw, so Ambrose may be in his future.
Balor Club has feuded with almost everyone on Raw, so Ambrose may be in his future.

Since he is perhaps the truest babyface on the Raw roster, Ambrose and Finn Balor will certainly feud at some point next year. Balor was one of the guys who subbed in for Ambrose as a tag partner when he was hurt, so Ambrose can use that as the impetus for potentially attacking Balor.

Balor has had to scratch and claw for respect from just about everyone and Ambrose will certainly make him do the same. The matches should be great regardless of when it happens. Heck, maybe we even get The Demon to deal with The Lunatic.

If Dean wins the IC Title off of Rollins, Balor could be the one to challenge him after his business with Seth is done. That might not be until after WrestleMania, but Balor is well overdue for another title reign of some form or another.

Ambrose can rub the fact that he's been a champion more than Balor has in Finn's face. That would make a potential win by Finn all the more cathartic.

#3 Elias

Will Ambrose 'Walk with Elias' at some point in 2019?
Will Ambrose 'Walk with Elias' at some point in 2019?

Just as Dean was turning heel, Elias was turning to the face side on the same night. He started off by bashing everyone's favorite person to hate, Baron Corbin, in the back of the head with one of his guitars. He continued to serenade the Raw commissioner backstage and has recently been feuding with Bobby Lashley.

If Ambrose and Elias do feud, just imagine the back and forth these two could have on the mic. Elias can come up with a bunch of lunatic themed songs about Ambrose or he could call a psychiatrist saying that he needs to have someone committed.

Ambrose could respond about how Elias used to have an edge but now he just panders to the crowd. Or he can just repeatedly attack Elias with guitars. It might even be great for a match at Extreme Rules.

This seems like a match that would benefit from props, so maybe Mitch the plant makes a return.

#2 Braun Strowman

Braun and Dean might have some more business to attend to in 2019.
Braun and Dean might have some more business to attend to in 2019.

This one has already happened a few times amidst the Wyatt Family/Shield feuds and the recent Shield/Dogs of War feud. Like Elias, Braun Strowman turned to the side of the light, or maybe antihero, on the same night that Dean turned on Rollins, and by extension, Roman.

Strowman has always been a fan favorite, especially with his matches against Roman. Now that his mini-heel run is over again, he's back to being cheered for the right reason. No matter what he does he's going to have the crowd behind him.

If Strowman is holding the Universal Title at some point, he might have a ready and willing challenger in the form of Ambrose. Ambrose will probably be a little more believable as a badass heel than a hot dog cart pushing face.

Yeah it was funny to a degree but it was hard to take Dean seriously then. We should certainly take him more seriously now. He and Braun can have all sorts of matches, so this one is a likelihood if the red belt changes hand next year.

#1 Roman Reigns

Roman has a built-in feud with Ambrose once he returns from his time off.
Roman has a built-in feud with Ambrose once he returns from his time off.

When Roman Reigns does return, he'll come looking for answers from his former friend. The two have always been the closest of allies, but with his actions the same night as Roman's announcement, that dynamic has certainly changed.

Maybe Dean's holding the Universal Title Roman was forced to relinquish. That would almost write itself. Roman would definitely be cheered for the first time in a feud with Ambrose. Ambrose is now the bad guy and not the guy who isn't getting the title push.

Since people won't be booing Roman when he comes back, it will allow WWE to have clearly defined face and heel roles in the program. We already know the matches will be great, but a lot of truth might come out. Something from Ambrose like 'you've been the chosen one ever since the Shield was formed' could be used.

Or maybe he brings up that in the last title match between the Shield brothers at Money in the Bank in 2016, it was Dean who left the building with the title. Whenever it happens, it will be one of WWE's hottest feuds and will get both over even more in their respective roles.
