The most dominant group in WWE history may fall again

The Shield will go down in history as the most dominant force that ever stepped foot in a WWE ring. Since we are talking about history, it was in 2014 when 'the Architect' betrayed his brothers to join hands with the Authority. The man went on to become a solid main event superstar then and won the WWE Championship by successfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 31 and pinning Roman Reigns.

While Roman Reigns was always considered the top guy in the Shield and went on to headline three WrestleManias and has multiple championships to his account, it has been the Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose that has not enjoyed much success within the company.

Ambrose may be a grand slam champion but he is still seen as a weakling in the Shield. Originally scheduled to face his Shield counterpart Seth Rollins this year, Dean, unfortunately, got sidelined with a bicep injury which ruled him out for nine months. Ambrose might return in time for Summer Slam which could be the time when he turns on his brothers who continue to enjoy their success.

Dean's 'heel' turn could be a remarkable chapter in the Shield's rivalry and could see him win the Universal Championship somewhere down the line. Imagine Dean Ambrose walking in as the Champion at WrestleMania 35 with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as the challengers. It would be a phenomenal way to culminate a rivalry that has all the ingredients to be remembered for years to come.
