Raven was one of ECW's standout performers. He had a cult following amongst the ECW faithful owing to his supreme mic skills and one of a kind in ring persona. He is also regarded as one of the most influential figures in wrestling history.

Fans will remember his rivalry with The Sandman, which was dubbed "one of the most emotional rivalries in professional wrestling history."

When he shifted base to the WWE, he continued with his 'grunge-inspired' gimmick and largely remained a midcarder and feuded mostly for the Hardcore Championship. Raven won the WWE/WWF Hardcore Championship 27 times in his distinguished career, which is a record that no one has been able to beat.

At a time when Raven was gaining popularity, he was caught drinking late with Shane McMahon and sleeping around with other employees which didn’t work well with Vince McMahon at all.

Raven was fired from the company soon after, and he made matters worse by suing the company in return. While the lawsuit was later dismissed, it seems like his problems with the company will never allow him to get into the Hall of Fame.

If ECW ever had a Hall of Fame, Raven would walk into it like it was nobody's business. It is indeed unfortunate that he was unable to cement a position for himself with the WWE despite being a complete package.
