Since returning to WWE, Edge has recently stated that a future showdown against former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns 'has to happen'.

The story practically writes itself. Both WWE Superstars are former multiple-time WWE World Heavyweight Champions. Both WWE Superstars also use the spear as their finishing maneuver. Is there much more of a story that is needed to be told? I don't think so.

Roman Reigns has faced a laundry list of WWE legends from the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era inside of a WWE ring. The Undertaker, John Cena and Triple H, to name just a few. Adding the Rated-R Superstar to that list seems like a must at this point.

Roman Reigns vs. Edge would be WrestleMania-worthy, first-time-ever dream match that WWE could potentially book. It almost seems like a certainty that we will see this match before Edge's current WWE deal expires in 2023. With The Big Dog earmarked by the Rated-R Superstar as an opponent he wants to face in the future, don't be surprised if we see an Edge vs. Roman Reigns feud at some point in the future.
