Reigns has recently been setting new merchandise records for a heel, further cementing his place as a money-making star. In comparison, it could be argued that Tyson Fury is the biggest box-office attraction in professional boxing today.

Fury's second fight with Deontay Wilder in February 2020 grossed an astonishing $16.9 million dollar gate at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This shattered the previous gate record for a heavyweight boxing fight in Nevada, a record that had stood for over 20 years.

Considering the popularity of both stars, a match between the biggest box-office attraction in WWE and the biggest box-office attraction is boxing would mean major business.

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has long-teased a possible match against WBC Heavyweight Boxing Champion Tyson Fury.

The two men have continuously traded shots and jabs on social media, hinting at a possible match inside a WWE ring at some point in the future.

There were even rumors that WWE did indeed have tentative plans for The Scottish Warrior and The Gypsy King to square off at a pay-per-view event in the United Kingdom in 2020.

However, as was the case with many plans in 2020, the proposed bout was scrapped due to the global pandemic, preventing travel between the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

McIntyre and Fury have continued to tease that a match will happen. With travel restrictions being lifted and fans now allowed to attend events inside arenas once again, perhaps we could finally see the former WWE Champion and the current WBC, The Ring Magazine and Lineal Heavyweight Champion face off for the first-time ever.
