#2 Doctor of Thuganomics: 'one-time stint' or a 'long term gimmick'?

One of the most interesting and entertaining moments from WrestleMania 35 included John Cena making a comeback with his retired 'Doctor of Thuganomics' gimmick by interrupting a special Elias performance.
Not only did John Cena use the old gimmick to teach Elias a lesson, but this particular stint also left us all wondering - will John Cena use this gimmick going forward?
WWE has no plans for these former AEW wrestlers? Here's why!
It makes sense for this to be a one-time stint. After all, WWE needed something to stir up the conversation after The Undertaker's conspicuous absence from this year's WrestleMania. And Cena's appearance at the Grandest Stage of Them All did exactly that.
However, John Cena is at a point in his career where he has achieved most of the things this business has to offer. After being the same old John Cena for the past 14 years, perhaps he finally decided to mix it up at The Showcase of Immortals.
If he chooses to pursue the 'Doctor of Thuganomics' gimmick in the future, we could very well witness some of the most entertaining moments this gimmick has yet to offer.
