#4 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Shawn Michaels - WrestleMania 14

The match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14 was one of the biggest stepping stones for Stone Cold Steve Austin to completely usher in The Attitude Era.

HBK entered the contest as the WWE Champion, however he had a severely injured back due to a bump he took on the casket in a match against The Undertaker at Royal Rumble 1998.

'Iron' Mike Tyson was the special enforcer as Austin looked to dethrone Michaels for the WWE Championship. Austin and Tyson had had their differences leading up to WrestleMania 14 and fans wondered if the two would come to blows on the 'Grandest Stage of Them All.'

In a surprising turn of events, Tyson helped Austin secure the pinfall. The Rattlesnake gave his all in this contest as he overcame a resilient Michaels. The match was truly epic, and scenes of Stone Cold celebrating with Tyson over a battered Mr. WrestleMania are remembered by fans to date.

#3 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Triple H - No Way Out 2001

Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin were not only the fiercest of rivals but also one of the best tag teams during the Attitude Era.

At No Way Out 2001, Stone Cold was out for revenge against The Game, who had instructed Rikishi to run over Austin in a car. This resulted in the first ever Three-Stages of Hell contest.

It was basically a two-out of three falls match. The first fall would be a standard wrestling match, the second fall a street fight and the final fall would be contested in a steel cage.

Austin won the first fall in a standard wrestling match, with Triple H winning the street fight in the second contest. The third contest in the steel cage saw both superstars give their all despite being bruised by the beating they had already lashed out at each other.

In the end, Triple H hit Stone Cold with a sledgehammer as Austin simultaneously hit Triple H with a 2X4 wrapped in barbed wire. The Game then fell onto Austin as the referee counted the pinfall, giving the former a lucky victory.

The match was surely one for the ages. While Triple H might have triumphed 2-1, Austin undoubtedly won hearts with his tremendous showing.
