#4 Keeping Narratives Open

Too many screwy finishes.
Too many screwy finishes.

The one thing that many people dislike about WWE's writing is their willingness to let controversial booking end a match, as we have seen the company use this tactic for years. Now, many know that the Super ShowDown event was not going to be a one and done deal with all the narratives making up the show, as this show was a mere pitstop on the road to bigger pay-per-views in the future.

However, when you look at this event, there have been too many matches that have ended via screwy decisions, and that takes you out of the experience that anything can happen in a wrestling show. As it was apparent halfway into this event that WWE's booking was going through the motions we have seen on other shows like this.

We observed Seth Rollins take advantage of Baron Corbin's argument with the referee to retain his title, Lars Sullivan winning his match via DQ, Kofi Kingston beat a distracted Dolph Ziggler, and Roman Reigns loses to Shane McMahon due to Drew McIntyre's involvement.

This type of booking is useful in certain narratives, but by WWE over using one trick, it doesn't look too good, and that is a mistake.

#5 Undertaker vs Goldberg Goes On Last

The match that everyone wanted to see, but knew was not going to be a classic.

The match that everyone paid to see was Goldberg vs The Undertaker, as the biggest WWE legend vs the man that defined WCW in the late 90s clashing was more than enough to get people to tune in. But, going into this show, people knew these two legends were past their prime.

Even though with all that being said, witnessing these two icons of the business lock horns was great to watch, but it has to be said that WWE made a mistake by letting this match go on last. It is totally understandable why the company booked the match order in this manner, as they wanted people to actually stick around for the whole show.

However, this was a match filled with botches that could have seriously injured either man, as you could see they were trying their very best to put on a main event worth remembering, but that was not the case though, as we saw two veterans realise that their contributions to the business are appreciated by fans, but it's time for WWE to step into a new era where new legends are born.
