Brock Lesnar is dubbed by many as one of the most controversial Superstars in WWE history, and rightfully so. The Beast's WWE career has been one controversial ride, be it his initial stint in the early 2000s, or his post-UFC WWE run.

Brock Lesnar wasn't interested in pro wrestling when he was growing up on a farm, but things took a turn soon after, and he found himself honing his wrestling skills over at Ohio Valley Wrestling. Brock Lesnar is a no-nonsense guy who leads an incredibly private life, doesn't have a lot of friends in the wrestling business, and is known for not mincing his words while talking about anyone.

Brock Lesnar has made a bunch of controversial comments over the past two decades or so, targeting the biggest names in pro wrestling in the process. In this list, we will take a look a five of the most controversial things Brock Lesnar has said in real life.

#5 Brock Lesnar makes a bold statement about The Rock

During Brock Lesnar's first WWE stint, he had a blockbuster match against The Rock for the WWE title at SummerSlam 2002, and became the youngest WWE Champion on that night. Months later, Brock Lesnar and The Rock squared off in a house show match on the road to WrestleMania 19, with the latter coming out victorious. Lesnar claims in his book, "Death Clutch", that he wasn't told beforehand that he was going to lose, and added that he believes The Rock was "in cahoots with" Vince McMahon.

"No one had the guts to tell me the truth, until it was time to step into the ring. Just from the look on Dwayne's face and the tone in Jack's voice, I knew they were in on something I wasn't. It was obvious to me that Vince, Dwayne and Jack were all in cahoots, and I wasn't being smartened up to the situation until the very last minute."

In his book, Brock Lesnar claimed that he was the WWE Champion at the time he faced The Rock at the house show. As per records, the house show took place on the road to WrestleMania 19, in 2003. Fans are aware that Lesnar wasn't the WWE Champion at the time, and was on his way to challenge Kurt Angle for the coveted belt at The Show of Shows.

When Brock Lesnar came up to the main roster in 2002, WWE legend Ric Flair was still an attraction on weekly TV, and was being featured in matches on a regular basis. On an episode of RAW on July 1, 2002, Lesnar defeated Flair with ease. Lesnar opened up about The Nature Boy in his book years later, and stated that he didn't want to end up being like him.

"It got to the point that I remember one day looking across the locker room at Ric Flair, who was then in his mid-fifties, and saying to myself, 'That’s not going to be me.'"
"I wondered how many of his own kids' birthday parties did Flair miss? How many of their graduations? I didn't want to be pushing sixty years old and still wearing tights."

Brock Lesnar wrestled his last WWE match against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36, where he lost the WWE title to The Scottish Psychopath. Lesnar's WWE contract soon ran out, and he isn't associated with the company anymore. It's no secret that Brock Lesnar has made enough money to last a lifetime, and it wouldn't surprise anyone if he never comes back to a wrestling ring. At 43-years-old, Brock Lesnar still has a long and fulfilling life ahead of him. If he never comes back, it's safe to say that he "got out" at the right time.

#3 Brock Lesnar slams The Undertaker after UFC confrontation

The Undertaker's confrontation with Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 made waves in the MMA as well as the pro wrestling world, with fans speculating that WWE was trying to kick off a feud between the duo. The tense confrontation saw The Undertaker asking Brock Lesnar, "You wanna do it?", as The Beast was heading to the back after a big loss to Cain Velasquez. Lesnar opened up on the same later, and had some things to say about The Deadman that the latter's fans didn't appreciate one bit.

Brock Lesnar hinted that The Undertaker was trying to get some attention.

"I don't know what he wanted to do. Maybe he was trying to fight. I don't know if he was there to fight or what or if he was there to get some attention or what, I don't know."

Lesnar also said that The Phenom holds a grudge against him as he did things in MMA that pro wrestlers can't do. Lesnar added that he can always go back to WWE, but The Undertaker and his WWE peers can't come into the octagon.

Brock Lesnar made his WWE return on the RAW after WrestleMania 28, and attacked John Cena with a thunderous F5. The return kicked off possibly the most dominant run of any WWE Superstar in history, with Brock Lesnar breaking The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, squashing John Cena at SummerSlam 2014, and putting down Superstars one after the other.

#2 Brock Lesnar makes a serious accusation against Kurt Angle

Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle were the best of friends during their stint in WWE. Their real-life friendship was featured in an angle soon after WrestleMania 19 in 2003, which saw both Superstars being involved in hilarious backstage segments. Brock Lesnar's feeling towards Angle did change a lot during his final days in WWE. In his book, Lesnar writes that he had made the decision to leave WWE in early 2004, and told Kurt Angle about it.

According to Brock Lesnar, Angle told Vince McMahon everything Lesnar had confided in him.

"Believing I could trust Kurt, I told him I was thinking of getting out of the business. I didn't tell anyone else, and he said he wouldn't either. But soon after I confided in him, I became convinced that Vince knew I was planning to leave. Did Kurt stooge me out?"

Brock Lesnar also wrote how Kurt Angle being an Olympic gold medalist didn't matter to Vince McMahon and Triple H, and all they saw in him was a "five-foot nine-inch guy in tights". Lesnar added that no matter how good he was in the ring, Angle could never be "larger than life".

#1 Brock Lesnar's honest take on Vince McMahon

Brock Lesnar's relationship with Vince McMahon soured more and more with each passing day, in early 2004. Following his WWE exit after WrestleMania 20, Brock Lesnar was involved in a motorcycle accident that crushed his NFL dreams. Before he made his way to NJPW, Brock Lesnar had a meeting with Vince McMahon, where the two parties discussed a possible return to WWE. Vince McMahon wanted Brock Lesnar to start from the bottom again, and Lesnar didn't like it one bit.

"Vince wanted to bully me like he does everyone else, because most people who end up on the outs with Vince McMahon don't have a pot to pi*s in. They have to crawl back on their hands and knees, begging for scraps."

Brock Lesnar didn't want to sign a "rookie deal with rookie money" with Vince McMahon, and the two parties engaged in a fierce legal battle over Lesnar going to NJPW and breaching his contract terms with WWE. Brock Lesnar went on to bag success in NJPW and became the IWGP Heavyweight Champion on one occasion. Lesnar would come back to WWE years later, and kick off another successful run in the company.
