Alice Cooper was a widely popular rock star during the 1980's. Cooper was also from Detroit, where WrestleMania was being held, so it made sense to bring him in. The rock superstar aligned with Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, accompanying him to the ring for his match against The Honky Tonk Man.
Honky beat Jake in controversial circumstances. It resulted in the Elvis impersonator immediately fleeing after the match was over. Honky's manager at the time, Jimmy Hart, was left alone in the ring. Roberts got him locked in a Full Nelson, before Alice Cooper revealed Roberts' python, Damien. Cooper then used the python to attack 'The Mouth of the South' in the middle of the ring.
