NXT Superstar Velveteen Dream has been praised by many WWE legends including John Cena to become a huge Superstar in WWE in the future. Starting his career with WWE as a participant of the sixth season of WWE Tough Enough, he debuted the "Velveteen Dream" gimmick on an episode of NXT in May 2017.

During his time in NXT, Velveteen Dream has had numerous feuds and matches against the likes of Aleister Black, Ricochet, EC3, Tommaso Ciampa, and many others. At the Worlds Collide tournament in January 2019, Dream defeated Tyler Bate in the finals and went on to challenge the then NXT North American Champion, Johnny Gargano. He defeated Gargano to win his first and so far the only championship in NXT.

After dealing with a back injury, Velveteen Dream returned to NXT earlier this year in February. He is scheduled to challenge the NXT Champion Adam Cole for his title at NXT TakeOver: In Your House on June 7. Interestingly, the match has a stipulation that if Dream loses, then he won't be able to challenge for the title as long as Cole remains the NXT Champion.

A loss there might lead to him moving to either RAW or SmackDown in the coming weeks!
