AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura took each other on in a rematch of their classic from NJPW. People had mixed reactions about the match at large, but they were thrilled at the conclusion. Styles picked up a win after a fantastic closing sequence. He will remain the WWE Champion, for now!

The question remains unanswered. Now that WrestleMania 34 is done, who will challenge AJ Styles next? In this article, we attempt to pick a few worthy contenders.

Let us know your thoughts about our picks in the comments. We would love to hear from you!

These are some men who could tear it up with AJ Styles soon!

#5 Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura is definitely not done with AJ Styles yet
Nakamura is definitely not done with AJ Styles yet

Some may believe that the first encounter between Styles and Nakamura was an underwhelming one. However, that may just be because of the fact that it was a babyface vs. babyface affair. Nakamura is a different animal as a heel, quite honestly. The two men could have quite the rivalry!

The match we saw at WrestleMania could be the beginning of a long and exciting feud that could pan out across the spring and summer. Who knows what underhanded tactics Nakamura will be up to, now that he is a full-fledged heel? We're certain that things will get more interesting going forward.

Nakamura is, in our opinion, a far better opponent for Styles right now than he was going into WrestleMania 34. We haven't seen the last of what could be a truly epic feud just yet.

#4 Daniel Bryan

Bryan seemed to be in perfect shape at WrestleMania
Bryan seemed to be in great form at WrestleMania

Daniel Bryan's story has been nothing short of a fairytale. Having been forced to retire from in-ring competition, Bryan made a return at WrestleMania 34 and vanquished his opponents with utmost ease. The roar of the crowd was absolutely deafening as they serenaded Bryan with massive 'Yes' chants! And now the next chapter of his career begins.

Daniel Bryan is considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of this era, much like AJ Styles is. In fact, he's even faced AJ Styles in the independents and, as one would expect, had a fabulous match with the WWE Champion. The two men could absolutely tear it up on a WWE stage.

We do not expect Daniel Bryan to continue as the General Manager of SmackDown Live for a long time. He could not only be a great opponent for Styles, but Styles would give Bryan just the kind of match he would need to show the world that he was indeed back!

#3 Finn Balor

Could the two men recreate the magic from their first encounter?
Could the two men recreate the magic from their first encounter?

Only days before the reunion of The Shield was about to take place at TLC last year, Roman Reigns was diagnosed with a disease! WWE knew they had massive expectations to fulfill and they booked what was a dream match.

Two former leaders of the Bullet Club took each other on, and put on a match for the ages at the pay-per-view. Could they do it again, after WrestleMania? Finn Balor could not win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34, and we deem it probable that he could be drafted to SmackDown Live very soon. If so, he could definitely revisit the feud he began with AJ Styles.

#2 Jeff Hardy

Hardy may not want to involve himself in the 'Woken' feud
Hardy may not want to involve himself in the 'Woken' feud

Woken Matt Hardy won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. During the course of the match, we saw Bray Wyatt align himself with the 'Woken One' as well. Jeff Hardy is due for a return at any time, but he may want to chart a different career path. He could be drafted to SmackDown Live!

We believe that Hardy would make a brilliant opponent for AJ Styles in due course. The two men have worked before in another organization and they are both extremely over. Hardy is a legendary performer who performs at the same level that he did in his prime!

Hardy could always make a return as Brother Nero, but we believe that his talent would be better utilized in this manner. Also, who wouldn't want to see these two men mix it up?

#1 Randy Orton

They've faced each other before, but never in a full-fledged program
They've faced each other before, but never in a full-fledged program

Randy Orton has been very vocal about the fact that he wants to go heel. He's been vocal with good reason! Most of the amazing work that he's done in his Hall of Fame-worthy career has been as a heel. Is there a better babyface to work against than AJ Styles, quite honestly?

Everybody wants to see the Phenomenal Forearm converted into the RKO. Everybody also wants to see these two men have a high-profile feud. This is a program that will appeal to both purists and casuals.

We've identified five programs that Styles can have after WrestleMania. Can you think of more?
