WWE hasn't been the same without the Lunatic Fringe really. Ever since he was injured and written off television, there's been an essential component missing. Ambrose has a connection with the audience that few other performers on the roster do. Everyone's waiting impatiently for his return.

What if Ambrose does not return on WWE RAW at all like many expect him to? With the new FOX deal, WWE SmackDown Live needs some big names to buoy the brand big time. Ambrose could be just what the doctor ordered for the blue brand.
And therefore, in this list, I will look at 5 men who could potentially take on Dean Ambrose on SmackDown Live if he makes a return there. Let me know your thoughts and opinions on the topic.
My list is as follows...
Honorary mention: John Cena
John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose is a big ticket feud for sure. It has the firepower to even main event a pay-per-view if need be. WWE may want to draw more eyeballs to SmackDown Live before it makes its way to FOX, by bringing in the big names. A Cena vs. Ambrose program could definitely draw eyeballs!
Of course, this is provided that Cena makes his way to SmackDown Live with Ambrose. Even though he's technically a free agent, he's seemed like he's more of a RAW superstar recently. Perhaps that could change with the new deal.
This feud could be especially interesting if Dean Ambrose were to return as a heel. It would make for very interesting television indeed.
#5 Andrade 'Cien' Almas
Andrade 'Cien' Almas came up from the independents and through NXT much like Dean Ambrose did. While he made an instant splash with his main roster debut, he really needs a feud to sink his teeth into, to be taken seriously. Who better than Dean Ambrose? Both men could engage in a series of matches that stretches out for months.
Much like The Miz and Maryse did, Renee Young too could become involved with Zelina Vega to give this feud a whole new, added dimension. Ambrose could benefit as well from working with new, fresh blood. Ambrose could even put Almas over a few times to establish him as a top-tier talent.
Imagine the promo battles that Ambrose and Vega could have, if given the opportunity. Both of them are exemplary on the microphone and can engage in some really entertaining banter.
#4 Samoa Joe
When Dean Ambrose got grievously injured during his recent run on RAW, Samoa Joe was shown to be responsible for the same. We all remember Joe sneering and making comments directed towards Renee Young when Dean Ambrose was written off TV. I'm certain that the two men are destined to collide down the line. Samoa Joe is on SmackDown Live right now!
If Ambrose returns on SmackDown Live, it would make sense for him to go straight for Samoa Joe. This could turn into a personal rivalry that stretches out over many months. In fact, in light of the recent deal with FOX, this could be one of the marquee feuds that is highlighted on the new Network!
I saw these two men work each other at a Live Event in India and I was thoroughly entertained, even though it was a multi-man match. There could even be a title match down the line for the US or even the WWE Championship.
#3 The Miz
The Miz and Dean Ambrose are no strangers to one another. If The Miz did indeed win Money in the Bank this year, and decided to cash in his championship to become WWE Champion, he could run into a brick wall in the form of Dean Ambrose. Ambrose and Miz have worked some entertaining programs in the past. The duo never disappoints!
Could The Miz elevate the WWE Championship like he elevated the Intercontinental Championship? With Ambrose working in unison with him, the possibilities are numerous.
#2 AJ Styles
Why do we need to see AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose again? Especially considering that we've seen this feud in the past and as is the case with both men, the feud had delivered then! The answer is quite simple. The dynamics for this feud will be very different.
When they last clashed, Styles was a heel and Ambrose, a babyface. What if Ambrose were to return as a heel for this particular run? After all, he's not really had a full-fledged heel run since his initial Shield run.
I think Ambrose would make a pretty spectacular heel. He's got the acting chops to pull it off.
#1 Shinsuke Nakamura
The truth of the matter is that Shinsuke Nakamura could become the WWE Champion come Money in the Bank 2018. If so, he needs new opponents to feud against. His program with AJ Styles has gone on forever. Enter The Lunatic Fringe.
I think Ambrose and Nakamura could tear it up. Both men have incredible presence when they step into the ring. Having Nakamura feud against Ambrose will only build him up as a worthy WWE Champion.
