Could Seth Rollins take the Intercontinental Championship to new heights?

According to some members of the WWE Universe, the opening moments of WrestleMania 34 were the best moments of the entire show. After that, according to some, the show just kept going downhill until the very end. While we may not necessarily echo the same sentiment, they do have a point. Seth Rollins kicked the show off with a real bang!

The real test for WWE begins now. Will they be able to book this Grand Slam Champion in a way that befits his talent? We can only cross our fingers and hope for the best.

In this article, we will attempt to pick out 5 men who can challenge Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. We will attempt to plot out his future in the best possible manner.

Let us know in the comments if you believe this is the right way to go about things!

#5 Dean Ambrose

Could Rollins' former stablemate become his arch rival soon?
Could Rollins' former stablemate become his arch rival soon?

When Dean Ambrose was the babyface and Seth Rollins was a heel, they had a feud that lit up the WWE Universe and how! Ambrose is currently recovering from injury but he's due for a return at any time. If he turns heel upon his return, he could have a splendid feud with Rollins. One that puts the Intercontinental Championship in the spotlight yet again.

Ambrose and Rollins have incredible chemistry both as teammates and as opponents. Even if it were to be a babyface vs. babyface program, we wouldn't really be opposed to it. The only thing better than a Shield reunion is the thought of Shield members facing off!

Ambrose has been the Intercontinental Champion in the past and done a great job with the title. This feud may be just what the doctor ordered for the prestigious title.

#4 Roman Reigns

Could Reigns be forced into the Intercontinental Championship picture, following his loss?
Could Reigns be forced into the Intercontinental Championship picture, following his loss?

According to the rumour mill, Brock Lesnar only retained his Universal Championship to go on and have a feud with Bobby Lashley. The two MMA stars are due for a fight going forward. This would effectively remove Roman Reigns from the Universal Championship picture. In which case, Reigns could challenge for the second most important WWE title!

Reigns has been the Intercontinental Champion in the near past. He was a great Intercontinental Champion too, defending his title on a weekly basis. Much like Ambrose, Reigns too has worked some great matches with Rollins.

There's a big chance that The Big Dog could be next in line for the Intercontinental Championship. We certainly would not mind seeing the two WWE mega stars slug it out in the ring once more.

#3 Jason Jordan

Jordan and Rollins still have some unfinished business
Jordan and Rollins still have some unfinished business

Much like Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, Jason Jordan too has partnered with Seth Rollins and that too, not long ago. Jordan was on the verge of something massive, until an injury forced him to miss WrestleMania. We are certain that there was a full-fledged program with Rollins planned down the line. We're certain that may still happen.

Jordan is a superstar that needs the Intercontinental Championship far more than Seth Rollins at this current point in time. If the two men were to have a program with Jordan capturing the title even for a brief spell, it could really elevate Angle's son!

#2 Andrade 'Cien' Almas

The former NXT Champion is ready to dominate the main roster now
The former NXT Champion is ready to dominate the main roster now

Andrade 'Cien' Almas did the job for Aleister Black at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. He is now free to be called up to the main roster. The rumour mills indicate that WWE Management loves Andrade 'Cien' Almas and his feisty manager, ie. Zelina Vega. The duo will need a solid program on their first night.

What better way to make an instant splash than to come to the main roster and challenge Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship? Ideally, Almas could even win the Championship on his first night. This would establish him as a top guy immediately.

No one can doubt that Almas can certainly go in the ring. Imagine the matches he can have with Seth Rollins in weeks ahead.

#1 Samoa Joe

It may be time for the Samoan Submission Machine's return
It may be time for the Samoan Submission Machine's return

Seth Rollins is certainly no stranger to Samoa Joe. The two men have been at odds for almost a year. While Rollins has managed to reinvent himself, Joe has waited on the sidelines biding the time to ensnare his opponents into the Coquina Clutch. Seth Rollins may just be on his hit-list.

Joe and Rollins could have a program that spans the summer. They could make the Intercontinental Championship just as relevant as The Miz made it. They could certainly have a few prospective 'Match of the Year' contenders!

Rollins is one of the biggest stars on the roster and we believe each of the opponents we've named is worthy of his stature. If you disagree, let us know in the comments.

Who would you like to see square off against 'Kingslayer' Seth Rollins?
