WWE is hyping it's first ever Mixed Match Challenge tournament, and doing so in proper fashion. A number of top superstars are going to compete in the first ever tournament of its kind, which will be streamed live on Facebook.
Both RAW and SDL have already declared their first two entrants in the MMC. Braun-Alexa and Balor-Sasha are the first two teams from RAW while Roode-Charlotte and Rusev-Lana will represent SDL.
There are still a lot of teams left to be announced and we look at five interesting pairings WWE could make for the MMC.
#5: Jimmy Uso- Naomi
A rather straightforward and much-expected pair, the real-life couple of Jimmy and Naomi could well be the next entrants announced by SDL. Both the superstars are highly talented performers and will produce great action in the ring.
RAW has announced some weird pairings, while SDL is sticking to the normal routine. So expect Daniel Bryan to make the announcement soon!
The USO Penitentiary will receive a glowing boost in the form of Naomi!
#4: Goldust-Asuka
Goldust has been lobbying behind Asuka to join him for the Mixed Match Challenge for weeks now. In a series of hilarious segments, Goldust is desperately trying to convince the Empress of Tomorrow for the tournament.
Asuka, the undefeated superstar in WWE, could be a force to reckon with irrespective of her partner. However, she will benefit by pairing up with a superstar who doesn't take pins week-in,week-out.
Asuka-Goldust will be a bizarre team, which can even help Asuka show off her insane personality she had back in NXT.
#3: Alicia Fox-The Miz
Two of the most narcissistic characters in WWE, Foxy and the Awesome One could make a great team. Both their characters will gel together with each other, as both of them are insanely charismatic.
Alicia Fox is one of the most underutilized performers in the Women's Division, while fans have been lobbying for a main-event push for Miz for quite some time now.
Both these crazy individuals could make for some interesting segments in the MMC.
#2: Carmella-Big E
Similar to Goldust-Asuka, the New Day have their eyes set on Carmella, ever since they were announced for the MMC. The Money In The Bank holder is currently stuck in a limbo due to the nonsensical booking of Women's Division on SDL.
Carmella produced some fine comical segments during her run with James Ellsworth, and teaming up with Big E could end up being fine comedy gold!
Carmella along with the New Day could be another fun pairing, wouldn't it?
#1: Becky Lynch-Sami Zayn
These two were the best natural babyfaces on the WWE roster for quite some time, before Sami Zayn took to the dark side. Their gimmicks would have gelled so well with each other if Sami was still a face. However, these two fan favourites could still make for an interesting team.
Becky returned to WWE after a month-long hiatus, while Sami will be competing for a World Title for the first time in WWE. Could Becky save Sami from the dark side?
