5 Points to note from WWE NXT- Title matches confirmed, Brawl continues after main event

Another solid episode of NXT came our way this week
Another solid episode of NXT came our way this week

We stand on the precipice of a brand new era as NXT moves to the USA Network on September 18th this year. But there are a few episodes to go before this paradigm shift takes place.

And things only stand to become more exciting as the big day approaches I think. This was the real fallout episode of NXT TakeOver in Toronto and because of the events that actually happened during the show, I'd have to say that it was a noteworthy episode.

Of course, stars from RAW and SmackDown Live are expected to show up on NXT when it moves to the USA Network but for now, there's a locker room bursting with talent, hoping to prove their worth under the bright lights. And I shall speak about a few of them in this article.

Feel free to leave a comment and let us know what your thoughts about this week's show are...

#5 The Undisputed Prophecy remains unfulfilled

Each member of the Undisputed ERA had an exemplary match at TakeOver. Unfortunately, only Adam Cole was able to walk out of the arena with gold as the others fell short in their endeavors. And this did not sit right with the stars of the black and gold brand who aired their grievances.

One must remember the Undisputed prophecy, where Adam Cole had promised that by the time the year was over, the Undisputed ERA would be draped in gold. That was not to be, but Roderick Strong and the others had their excuses in place for the same with video footage to boot.

They would rant about how the illegal man was pinned in the tag team match, and indeed how Roderick Strong was never pinned in the triple threat match. This would lead to interesting developments.

#4 Two title matches and some stern words

Nobody makes an entrance as the Velveteen Dream does. And when he did come to the arena, dragged in his sofa by a pair of beautiful women, he would announce to the world that the spotlight was on him. Roderick Strong and Velveteen Dream are sure to meet down the line to fulfill the prophecy.

Jordan Myles, the winner of the NXT Breakout tournament made waves as well. He would challenge Adam Cole to a title match, who would belittle him and ask him to go face Shayna Baszler. But Myles would announce without a word that Cole was in his crosshairs next.

There's yet another title match that is slated to happen on next week's show which is Fish and O'Reilly against The Street Profits for the NXT Tag Team Championships which should be a massive clash. Will the Street Profits finally drop their titles and move on to RAW at long last?

#3 Matt Riddle decimated by Killian Dain

We've been waiting for this clash for a long time, and it did not disappoint. Matt Riddle and former SAnitY member Killian Dain had a very hard-hitting and brutal main event match that would end with Riddle getting absolutely decimated in the contest.

It took multiple Vader Bombs to do so, but it seemed that Matt Riddle who's been on a tear ever since coming in to NXT, had met his match at last. But the contest would not end with Dain picking up the win as the melee continued in the backstage area with the two men slugging.

Dain looks like the monster he was meant to be at long last, I feel. It is a shame that the main roster did not treat him as one.

Whatever the case may be, I'm certain that there's at least another match left in the feud!

#2 Offer made and refused

Shayna Baszler had the line of the night as she spoke about the business being cold but 'ask these two', she would continue, 'it's nice and warm under the dragon's wing'. Unfortunately, Mia Yim is not a woman who is moved by strong lines and she would refuse the offer with a flurry of fists to the three Horsewomen.

While referees would break things up, it is clear that Baszler vs. Yim is a program that is far from over. I seriously wonder who is next in line once Baszler vs. Yim has concluded because the women's division lacks depth. LeRae is pretty much the only other woman I can imagine in the title picture.

It must be said that Vanessa Borne put up a valiant fight against Yim at the start of the match and I love her character. The 'Lower' sticker to Yim's backside was a stroke of genius!

#1 Two Aussies slug it out

I had a chance to chat with independent wrestler Hayden Zenith from Down Under not long ago, and he spoke about Shane Thorne and what a wonderful, helpful, caring and supportive individual his fellow Aussie mate really is. Of course, you wouldn't think that if you happened to look at his on-screen persona because he's as mean as mean can be.

He would take on Bronson Reed in a match that went back and forth but ultimately ended with Thorne picking up the win. It is clear that WWE plans to push Thorne as a top heel in the black and gold brand in the months to come.

Could he be a top player when the brand goes to the USA Network? Could he excel in a singles role after what was a promising run with TM-61?

All questions will be answered over the coming weeks.
