5 possible matches for Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 34 after being cleared for in-ring return

Could one dream match replace another?
Could one dream match replace another?

Daniel Bryan is finally going to wrestle again! It took two years, countless doctors and the stubbornness Daniel Bryan that forced the WWE medical personnel into sanctioning the inevitable.

In the midst of Yes chants reverberating all around the world in the wake of WWE's blockbuster announcement, the ambiguity surrounding his comeback match has increased considerably.

While there is a ready-made storyline currently unfolding on SmackDown Live, there are other tantalizing options too for Bryan that WWE could consider and this list takes a closer look at them:

#1 Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Yes vs Yep? Who wins?
Yes vs Yep? Who wins?

The obvious and arguably the easiest decision to make will be to book Bryan and McMahon as a team against the unruly duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

The long-drawn feud has seen Bryan play a significant role over the past few months and the in-ring return could have been part of WWE's plans from the beginning.

While McMahon and Bryan have had their difference off late, last week's events should bring them on the same page when it comes to shutting down the rebellious KO and Zayn.

As things stand, the tag team match is the most-likely candidate to be Bryan's comeback match. However, he could even be a replacement in another high-stakes WrestleMania 34 bout...

#2 Replaces AJ Styles and goes on to face Shinsuke Nakamura

They go way back.
They go way back

While AJ Styles recently cleared the air regarding his injury in a press conference, the matter of the fact is that the WWE Champion is legitimately hurt and would get into a risky predicament if he goes ahead with his WWE title match against Shinsuke Nakamura.

It's no secret that WWE likes to play it safe when it comes to injuries. It took them two freakin years to clear Bryan! Risking the face of SmackDown Live at the biggest stage of them all may not be WWE's way of doing things especially if Styles' injury is proven to be a serious one.

Daniel Bryan is the only name worthy enough to replace of the Phenomenal One at the show of shows and could save WWE the embarrassment of not having a WWE title match at Mania.

Bryan vs Nakamura is a dream match in its own right and the King of Strong Style wasted no time in planting the seeds for the potential showdown:

#3 Singles match against Dolph Ziggler

These two can have a 5-star match if given the stage and time.
These two can have a 5-star match if given the stage and time

If reports are to be believed, Ziggler is one of the highest paid stars currently in WWE and whether you agree or not, is one of the topmost heels on the blue brand.

The former World Heavyweight Champion is adept at making his opponents look great while he takes a loss and is also one of the safest in-ring workers around. The Show-Off is currently without a substantial feud heading into Mania but it could all change if he challenges the returning Bryan to a match.

Bryan and Ziggler have impeccable chemistry and can bring the house down on any given day. If nothing else materializes for Bryan in time for Mania, a match with Ziggler makes complete sense when you take in consideration Dolph's current gimmick. Ziggler needs a big storyline to improve his fortunes of having a solid 2018 as an elite bad guy.

A short feud against a perennial babyface in Bryan would do wonders for his stock as a heel.

#4 Added to the Intercontinental Championship match

Miz vs Bryan wil eventualy happen some day!
Miz vs Bryan will eventually happen someday!

This one's a left-field option due to Bryan being contracted by SmackDown. Nonetheless, the personal rivalry between Bryan and The Miz justifies the addition of the SmackDown GM into the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania.

Being a multi-man match also involving Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, Bryan can be protected in his first in-ring outing since April 2015 if he were to be in a three-way dance at WrestleMania 34.

WWE can put the belt on Balor or Rollins, who can branch out into a rivalry after Mania. This leaves The A-Lister and Bryan with the opportunity of having one of the feuds of the year after the show of shows in New Orleans on April 8th.

#5 Becomes Braun Strowman's tag team partner

The Flying GOAT and the Monster Among Men would make great team.
The Flying Goat and the Monster Among Men would make a great team

The least likely but the most appealing of all alternatives has to be the prospect of Bryan teaming up with the Monster Among Men. Strowman needs a partner and Bryan needs a big match. So what if Bryan is on SmackDown, if John Cena can be exempted from rule then so can the Leader of the Yes! Movement.

The rare dynamic would be reminiscent of Team Hell No days when Kane and Bryan got their innovative act over in a wholesomely entertaining angle.

Strowman can carry Bryan around on his shoulder while both do the Yes chants. Bryan better not attempt a diving headbutt from his shoulders, though.
