5 potential finishes for John Cena vs. Kane on RAW

So much could happen during this huge match!
So much could happen during this huge match!

On the surface of it, this is a match we've seen several times in the past. John Cena takes on Kane, in a standard RAW match. However, if one were to analyze it thoroughly, this is much more than your regular match. This is a match with massive WrestleMania implications.

Cena, on paper, still does not have a match for WrestleMania 34. He has no qualms about attending the event as the member of the WWE Universe. However, he'd much rather be a featured attraction in the card, competing with The Phenom.

Could this be the match that sets the stage for the highly anticipated dream match? We believe so, and are here to explore the various things that could happen during the course of this iconic contest.

Here are 5 ways this contest can come to a fitting end.

#5 Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn help Kane win the match

The last we saw of these two, they had been fired from SmackDown Live. For them to be a part of the WrestleMania card, they have to be active WWE superstars. While this is an unlikely scenario at first glance, we could totally expect them to show up on RAW and disrupt this match. By doing so, they could announce themselves as active RAW superstars.

This could lead to a match between John Cena and maybe Owens or Zayn in the final week leading up to WrestleMania. And the inevitable showdown with The Undertaker could happen during that week.

It would also lead to a parallel storyline between Owens and Zayn, and possibly Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan culminating in a RAW vs. SmackDown Live match.

We realize that this is a very outrageous scenario. But if you take a moment to think about it, it's not far removed from the realm of possibility.

#4 Kane wins the match clean

Much like the latest WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry, Kane is one of those performers who's always been in the roster but never seems to have gotten his due. He's hardly ever injured, performs at the highest level after two decades in the business and has given his life and limb to sports entertainment over the years.

That said, it's highly improbable if not outright impossible that he will score a clean pin over John Cena. The only way this possibility would make sense if WWE was adamant about doing the 'John Cena cannot win a match' storyline, following his losses at Elimination Chamber and Fastlane. This could be the final loss that breaks the camel's back for Cena.

WWE could do a storyline where he goes looking for The Undertaker, following his loss to Kane. Or maybe, he shows up at WrestleMania a battered man, and The Undertaker answers his call.

However, once again, we deem this an unlikely scenario.

#3 John Cena wins the match clean

For the duration that John Cena has been an active WWE superstar, he's always been a bigger star than Kane. In a match between the two, one would expect Cena to go over clean. We wouldn't be surprised if this were to happen, because this would be the final obstacle on his road to facing the Deadman. One five knuckle shuffle, one AA and a win!

We can totally imagine John Cena winning this match and calling out The Undertaker on the final RAW before WrestleMania. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if The Undertaker responds with some kind of cryptic message.

#2 Lights Out, The Deadman Appears

We saw him leave his trench-coat, hat and gloves in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania last year. But as the old Lovecraftian phrase goes:

That is not dead which can eternal lie.

It is almost inevitable that The Undertaker will make his return at WrestleMania 34. Why wouldn't he come to his own kayfabe brother's aid, especially if he were losing his match against John Cena?

Of course, if The Undertaker were to interfere, John Cena would win the big match by disqualification.

Imagine how the place will come unglued if the Deadman were to return, yet again. The ovation would be absolutely deafening, in our opinion.

#1 The Return of the American Badass, Kane wins by rollup

There has been much said about The Undertaker returning as the American Badass. This possibility does make sense because The Undertaker retired his Dead Man persona last year. If he still has another match in him, it makes sense to do it in his other gimmick. Imagine how shocked John Cena would be, if The Undertaker showed up in this classic avatar.

Kane could pick up the win by a roll-up. Or maybe deliver a chokeslam, because of this big distraction. It would allow The American Badass to come to the ring, and lay the hurt on John Cena.

We've outlined five possibilities in this article. Which of them do you consider likely, in next week's gigantic match?
