#2 Drew McIntyre
Ever since Drew McIntyre returned to the WWE in 2018 after a four-year hiatus, The Scottish Psychopath has shown that he is ready for the main event scene, with an improved powerful physique and a devastating new finisher, the Claymore.
WWE officials weren’t the only ones who have taken notice, with Taker himself wanting to face McIntyre at next year's WrestleMania, according to reports earlier this year.
While McIntyre has not faced off against Taker in a one-on-one match since his WWE return, they were opponents in a tag team match at Extreme Rules earlier this year, which could turn out to be a precursor for their future WrestleMania match in 2020.
#3 Sting
Sting and The Undertaker are two of the most iconic wrestlers in history, but the fans have never seen them compete against one another in the wrestling ring. Both were on top of the wrestling world at the same time, in the 1990s and early 2000s. The only problem was that they were stars in rival wrestling promotions (Sting in WCW, and Taker in WWE).
Talks of this dream match began when Sting showed up in the WWE for the first time in 2014. Although his in-ring career with WWE lasted only one year, Sting did wrestle Triple H and Seth Rollins before retiring, after which he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
Recently, Sting revealed in an interview that Taker would be the only opponent he would come out of retirement for. Sting had been lobbying for a match against Taker at WrestleMania during his WWE run, but unfortunately, the timing was never right. Sting was quoted as saying:
“I mean, everyone knows who it would be. Taker, he’s the only guy I’d come out of retirement for now. No one else. We could just never get it together to make it happen. When I started talking to WWE he was booked with Brock and then I did the deal with Triple H and he had another feud going on at the time, so it was just one of those things we couldn’t make happen.”
