Who will be this year's Iron Man?

Every year at the WWE Royal Rumble there is a superstar who comes in early and defies the odds by either winning or lasting a long time before being eliminated. In the past, this honour has fallen to the likes of Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler and others but who will be this year's 'Iron Man' that lasts the test of time.

#5 John Cena

Your time is up his time is now!

The franchise player, John Cena, has already thrown his hat into the ring and entered himself into the 2017 Royal Rumble match.

It is not hard to imagine that Cena could win the match based on his track record. He has to be considered a favourite in any match that he is in and a match between him and A.J Styles at Mania would be great. it is, however, a match that has been seen before.

Cena loves the WWE and will be keen to get back into things quickly; maybe, he will enter early and be among the last 4.

#4 Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens

Owens and his guardian angel will have a mountain to climb!

I know this list is meant to comprise of individual superstars, but at the moment, Owens and his guardian angel come as a package.

Zayn and Owens are great in-ring performers that possess more than enough stamina to last the test of the time in this year's Rumble match.

It is highly doubtful that Zayn or Owens will win the WWE Title in their handicap match against A.J Styles. With this in mind, they could find themselves in the Royal Rumble match, and it will make perfect sense for Shane McMahon to pull some strings and ensure they enter early.

Perhaps due to the teamwork between them they can run through the competition. This alliance could get them through to the last 4 before one man inevitably turns on the other.

#3 Roman Reigns

Can anyone bring down the Roman Empire?

Roman Reigns has to be considered when talking about favourites in this year's Rumble match.

Let's face it, Reigns vs Lesnar is a lock for Wrestlemania this year. It is not a case of if we will get there but how. Don't be shocked to see Reigns survive yet another Royal Rumble match and join the ranks of various two-time winners.

There is also the fact that he will probably have allies in the form of Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan who are a makeshift Shield, of sorts, while Ambrose is recovering.

Also, WWE loves to display how strong and resilient the Big Dog is. What better way to display this than to have him enter at number one and last all the way till the end running through 29 other superstars?

#2 Shinsuke Nakamura

Can Nakamura last the test of time!

If there is one man in the WWE that is in desperate need of a star-making performance it is 'The Artist' known as Shinsuke Nakamura.

Having so much hype around Nakamura has not really helped and to say his run so far has been underwhelming would be a huge understatement. He has had disappointing showings against Ziggler, Mahal and Baron Corbin to name a few, all people that are capable of putting on good matches.

Despite all of this the powers that be will still want Nakamura to come across as main event calibre. There would be no better way to do this than to have him enter at Number One and use his strong style to run riot over the roster and punch a ticket to Wrestlemania to face A.J Styles in a match that could change his career for the better. Even if he doesn't win the match, it is paramount he is in the last 2.

#1 Finn Balor

Will we see a normal Balor or the Demon King?

Do not put it past Finn Balor to win this year's Royal Rumble. It is 100% possible that this could happen, but if not, he will last a long time in this year's event.

Much like Nakamura, the Creative team have not capitalised properly on the Balor's hype, and he is in need of a great showing to restore momentum. One thing people need to remember is he now has some 'Good Brothers' by his side.

With 'The Club' having reformed it is very likely that they will be a force to be reckoned with in the Royal Rumble match with factions always having strong runs. Expect Gallows and Anderson to help Balor reach at least the last 4 from an early spot because they have been put together for a reason!
