Let's say WWE plans to have Nikki Cross try and fail to save her longtime friend from The Fiend. What would be the result of that? Furthermore, what would it do for Nikki Cross, who is still struggling to establish herself on Monday Night RAW after the 2020 WWE Draft?

The sad truth of the matter is that having her come up short in saving her friend is going to make her lose credibility. It will also likely result in another decisive pinfall that will destroy any momentum the character has left. That's why WWE needs to look at delaying this feud to let Cross join The Fiend's cult.

If nothing else, it will help keep Cross on television longer, allow fans to get more emotionally involved, and could result in a few high profile matches down the line. Now, isn't that a little bit better than just ending the feud after one or two matches? At least in this scenario, something is actually being built.
