5 reasons The Fiend wants to wrestle Sting in his WWE Raw debut

Bray Wyatt has gone through a major career revival this year and has now become one of the hottest acts on WWE TV. Soon after WrestleMania 35, vignettes began airing on a weekly basis, starring Wyatt in a completely different avatar. He was now a well-mannered, always smiling, children's show host.

Soon after, it dawned on the fans that there was an incredibly sinister secret that Wyatt was hiding behind his jolly persona. He later revealed it as The Fiend, a terrifying, masked entity that was bound to give you nightmares. He made his debut recently on Raw by putting down Finn Balor. He went on to defeat Balor at SummerSlam without losing much sweat. Wyatt has also targeted a bunch of legends such as Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, and Jerry Lawler.

Wyatt recently responded to WWE India's question on Twitter, regarding who should be his opponent in his Raw debut. Wyatt replied with a single word: 'Sting'. Here are five big reasons why The Fiend wants to face Sting in his eventual debut on WWE's flagship show.

#5 Both Superstars are similar in more ways than one

Sting
Sting

There's no argument over the fact that Bray Wyatt's children's show host persona is no match for "The Icon" Sting, but The Fiend certainly is. When one thinks of Sting, there are few who talk about the Surfer who had a bunch of classic matches against Vader in the early 90s. Sting reinvented himself in the mid-90s and came back as a dark, mysterious character who used a baseball bat to fend off his enemies.

Wyatt's Fiend is another such character who is still a big mystery to the WWE Universe, and little is known about him at this point in time. These two personalities are quite similar and a face-off between them would surely result in a big pop.

#4 Bray might want to face The Undertaker in his yard

The Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt
The Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt

When a question such as this is asked to Bray, one would immediately assume that he would mention The Undertaker's name. The Undertaker vs The Fiend would be a sight to behold if you are a WWE fan, although Taker's age would prevent it from being a 5-star classic.

Wyatt didn't take Taker's name though, and instead mentioned Sting. Why?

One possible reason for this could be that The Fiend does want to face The Undertaker, but is waiting for the right opportunity at the right time. The Undertaker defeated Wyatt at WrestleMania 31, and there's no way Wyatt must have forgotten that.

Maybe he wants to return the favor at WrestleMania and is waiting for the right time to challenge him. Defeating Sting will be a huge moment for him and immediately make him a strong contender against The Undertaker at Mania.

#3 This is a legitimate dream encounter

Sting in WCW

Let's face it. Amidst a string of dream matches that we have never witnessed, this one has to be somewhere at the top, now that Wyatt is a regular on WWE TV. Sting terrified WCW's heels back in the 90s, and was one of the biggest reasons why WWE lost to WCW in the rating war for 83 straight weeks.

Sting's attempts to fend off nWo's barrage of villains was something the fans couldn't get enough of. He came in as a knight in shining armor who would save the company from the disease that was nWo.

The Fiend is possibly the biggest villain in WWE at the moment. A story could be carved regarding how Sting wants to save WWE from The Fiend, but fails in the end. This bout has 'iconic' written all over it.

#2 Bray can carry Sting in a match

The Fiend
The Fiend

Sting wrestled his first WWE match back in 2015, months after making his WWE debut at Survivor Series and helping John Cena's team defeat The Authority. It has been over four years since that match, and Sting is nowhere near the same physical condition at present.

If WWE's doctors clear Sting for a one-off match, he shouldn't wrestle The Undertaker, as was rumored recently. The match would possibly end up being a disaster, much like The Undertaker vs Goldberg bout at Super ShowDown. Instead, have Sting wrestle The Fiend, who is comparatively young, and could carry Sting to a decent 10-minute match.

#1 Imagine the rub The Fiend would get

The Fiend has tons of potential
The Fiend has tons of potential

This could be the biggest reason why The Fiend wants to add Sting's name to his list of victims. It's no secret that Sting is one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. He was a top babyface in WCW during the better part of the 90s. His WWE debut was one of the biggest moments of 2014, and was a genuine shocker that no one had ever expected.

Defeating someone of the stature of Sting would definitely result in The Fiend getting the rub of a lifetime. Adding Sting to his ever-growing list of victims would turn him into a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
