On this week's episode of SmackDown Live, WrestleMania 35 host Alexa Bliss confirmed that The Usos will be defending their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships in a fatal four-way match involving The Bar, Rusev & Nakamura, and the team of Aleister Black and Ricochet.

The addition of the SmackDown Live Tag Team Title match is the 15th match officially confirmed for WrestleMania 35, as all four teams now have the opportunity to steal the show in a potential tag team thriller in New Jersey.

However, one team which is likely to enter the match with all the momentum in the world is none other than the recently called up NXT duo of Aleister Black and Ricochet. The duo has been on fire in recent weeks and in the build-up to WrestleMania 35, the former NXT Champion and North American Champion have had a shot at almost every single tag team championship belt.

Prior to tonight's SmackDown show, Black and Ricochet received a shot at the Raw Tag Team Championships and had the chance to win their first tag team title on the main roster but eventually failed to do so, as they were beaten by champions The Revival.

Despite a loss to Dash and Dawson, the duo of Black and Ricochet will now turn their focus on the NXT Tag Team Championships, as they are set to challenge The War Raiders at NXT TakeOver: New York and will have the opportunity to call themselves Double Champion if they win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles the very next night.

With this being said, several fans have been wondering why Black and Ricochet have had the privilege of getting a shot at every single tag-team championship on the Road To WrestleMania 35. And in this article, I'll take a look at 5 possible reasons why the dynamic NXT duo has had a shot at three different WWE Tag Team Championships.

#5. WWE could be planning to build the tag team division around Black and Ricochet

A new top tag team in the block?
A new top tag team in the block?

Aleister Black and Ricochet are two of the finest singles competitors in the world and there is absolutely no doubt regarding that. However, the current WWE roster is stacked with some of the finest singles stars as well, therefore, WWE could be possibly considering building their tag team division around Black and Ricochet.

I mean, in all honesty, the two men are tremendous singles competitors but having them as a tag team is definitely going to raise the bar in the tag team division. Both Black and Ricochet have tremendous chemistry inside the ring with each other and could very well find themselves as champions on the main roster within 5 days time.

#4. To book them in the strongest way possible on their first WrestleMania

We know for the fact that not every single NXT call up gets the privilege of having the strongest of runs on the main roster. I mean, for instance, look at the likes of EC3, Lacey Evans, and Nikki Cross, who were all part of the latest batch of NXT call-ups to the main roster and come WrestleMania 35, both Cross and EC3 are part of the pre-show. And WWE hasn't even considered Evans for the Pre-Show Battle Royal as well.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Aleister Black and Ricochet have been booked in the strongest of ways possible on their first Road To WrestleMania. Both men have been a constant part of both Raw and SmackDown Live, something which most of the NXT call-ups have failed to do so, let alone be a part of both the weekly televised shows.

And Black and Ricochet have also shared the ring with and have defeated some of the biggest names' in the build-up to 'Mania 35.

#3. WWE could be officially disbanding the team after WrestleMania 35

Black and Ricochet could go their separate ways
Black and Ricochet could go their separate ways

Aleister Black and Ricochet have had quite the run on NXT. Both men are former champions and have held the NXT Championship and the North American Championship respectively and like mentioned in a preceding point, Black and Ricochet are two of the most phenomenal singles athletes in the world. Therefore, breaking the team up and having them compete as singles superstars is the right choice following WrestleMania 35.

A particular part of the WWE Universe have been patiently waiting to watch both Black and Ricochet in singles action and it looks like following WrestleMania 35, the fans are finally gonna get what they really want.

Aleister Black, in particular, is World Champion material and I personally feel putting him on SmackDown Live would be another great addition to the blue brand. In the aftermath to WrestleMania 35, Black could possibly be challenging for the WWE Championship at some point down the line, whereas, Ricochet would make a worthy Intercontinental Champion.

#2. WWE is actually considering the crowning of Black and Ricochet as Double Champions at WrestleMania

All the gold for Black and Ricochet?
All the gold for Black and Ricochet?

One night prior to WrestleMania 35, Aleister Black and Ricochet will have the opportunity of winning the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: New York. The duo is currently fresh off a huge Dusty Rhodes Classic Win and will look to capitalize on the momentum, as they prepare themselves to challenge for mighty War Raiders for the NXT Tag Titles.

If Black and Ricochet do manage to walk out of TakeOver: New York as NXT Tag Team Champions then the duo will have the chance to call themselves Double Champion, as they will be presented with the opportunity to challenge for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles the very next night at WrestleMania 35.

A win over The Usos at The Grandest Stage of Them All is going to be absolutely historic for Black and Ricochet, as the two men will have the chance to walk out of WrestleMania as Double Champions.

#1. To plant the seeds to an Aleister Black heel turn

Is there a Black Mass on the horizon for Ricochet?
Is there a Black Mass on the horizon for Ricochet?

Aleister Black and Ricochet have already failed to capture the Raw Tag Team Titles off The Revival in the build-up to WrestleMania 35 and at TakeOver: New York, the duo will have the odds stacked against them as they get set to face a much bigger and dangerous team of The War Raiders.

Getting past the likes of The Forgotten Sons, DIY, and The European Union might have been relatively easy for Black and Ricochet, however, the duo of Hanson and Rowe are no joke, as 'The Dutch Destroyer' and 'The One and Only' will have to give their all if they are to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Regardless of the result at NXT TakeOver though, Black and Ricochet are pretty much confirmed to be battered and banged up following their clash against War Raiders and heading right into a match against The Usos, The Bar, and Rusev & Nakamura the very next night isn't going to be the wisest of decisions as well.

At this point, there is a very solid chance of Black and Ricochet failing to capture both the NXT Tag Team Titles and the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles as well, meaning that the two men would eventually come out empty handed following the culmination of WrestleMania 35.

However, this is exactly when WWE should capitalize on the fact that Aleister Black and Ricochet are two of the best singles stars in the world of Pro Wrestling today and have the former NXT Champion turn his back on his long-term tag team partner and friend Ricochet. This would not only provide us with a fresh, new heel in Black but would also give us an outstanding rivalry between Black and Ricochet on the main roster right after 'Mania 35 as well.
