The Royal Rumble is on our heads and we can’t wait for the show scheduled to take place in Phoenix, Arizona on 27 January 2019. It is fair to say that the Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated PPV of the year.

The card is stacked up with interesting matches starting from Daniel Bryan's WWE Championship bout against AJ Styles to the men's Royal Rumble and women's Royal Rumble.

It is fair to say the WWE is offering a lot on the table in order to make the event a success and the line-up of matches has got the world talking. With that said, there is one match which has been the topic of discussion amongst the wrestling fans worldwide for the last week and that match is Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship bout against Finn Balor. Finn defeated Baron Corbin, Drew Mcintyre and John Cena in a Fatal 4-way match on Raw to become the number one contender for Brock's Universal Championship.

Finn replaced Braun Strowman as the monster among men was shockingly taken out of the Universal Championship match at Royal Rumble by Vince McMahon as a punishment for breaking the chairman's Limousine. The last show which aired before Royal Rumble didn't disappoint at all as we got to see the awaited confrontation between Brock and Finn.

What makes this encounter interesting is the involvement of the chairman of the company, Vince McMahon who clearly doesn't believe in Finn Balor. Apart from these 3, there was one more man who was heavily involved in this discussion and that man was Braun Strowman. The monster among men was fined a hefty 100,000 dollars for breaking Vince's car and was even stripped of his opportunity to face Lesnar at Royal Rumble.

Here we list down 5 reasons why WWE's decision to pit Finn Balor against Brock Lesnar is best for business:

#1 Protects Braun's Image

It is no secret that Brock Lesnar will be competing at Wrestlemania and will most probably be defending the Universal title at the grandest stage of them all. For that, the beast had to defeat the monster among men at Royal Rumble.

Braun has had a great push so far and another defeat at the hands of the beast would’ve hammered his reputation as a main eventer. The WWE fans went in real dilemma upon hearing that Brock might defeat Braun Strowman yet again.

It is not just against Brock, Braun has been denied the opportunity to get his hands on the prestigious Universal Title at Raw a few times in the past. Despite having a tremendous run, the monster among men hasn't won his first Universal Championship. The monster among men famously won the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and the went on to win the Money In The Bank contract but his first title reign seems like a distant thought.

While another defeat or as we might say, unsuccessful attempt at capturing the universal championship would've shattered Braun's reputation.

#2 A massive push for Finn Balor

Finn Balor hasn't had a great run ever since he came from injury. Finn was the first Universal champion and great things were expected from him but his unfortunate injury halted his progress and thus he sort of dropped down the pecking order.

Finn hasn't been involved in the Universal Title picture much and that has left the WWE universe disappointed. Finn has been on the sidelines and deserved a shot to the top and what better way to get to the top than to face the one and only Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

Balor has tremendous potential but without any relevant storylines, Finn couldn't really make a mark in 2018. But things are looking pretty positive for the Irish Young Gun and if rumours are to be believed, the WWE board have great plans in store for Finn Balor.

#3 A fresh bout for the fans to anticipate

While Brock vs Braun is enticing, the WWE universe demands freshness and it doesn’t get any better than pitting Finn Balor against Brock Lesnar. The beast has battled the monster among men on one too many occasions and it is fair to say that the chemistry between both the powerhouses isn't really great.

Finn Balor is one of the best in-ring performers of the company and works well with almost everyone. The Irish captor is more of like Daniel Bryan and the world knows that Daniel came within a whisker of defeating Brock Lesnar at survivor series. While Balor might not possess the physical advantage over Brock Lesnar, his speed and agility will surely trouble the beast incarnate.

What really has caught the eye of the WWE fans is that Balor and Lesnar haven't faced each other ever and it is the air of first time ever bout that has got the fans excited.

#4 Works well for Brock

Ever since Brock’s UFC promo surfaced, it is clear that the beast will be parting ways with the WWE and go back to the octagon. With all that said, the beast is pretty clear about what his plans are and it seems he ain't up for putting his body at risk or taking major bumps heading to the penultimate phase of might be his last run with the company.

The WWE has carefully booked the beast ever since he re-signed a deal with Vince McMahon, Brock hasn’t really faced major challenges. The beast squashed Braun Strowman at The Crown Jewel, courtesy of Baron Corbin attacking the monster among men prior to the bell thus giving Brock an easy run at winning the Universal title.

With that said, while Finn is a tremendous athlete, he might not be as menacing as Braun Strowman. Braun has dominated Lesnar many times and things wouldn't have been much different had brock been booked against Strowman.

A match against Braun Strowman surely takes a toll at one's body and Brock wouldn't be too welcoming for that.

#5 New angle for Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has had a tremendous run so far and the monster among has been adored by the WWE universe. From flipping ambulances to winning the Greatest Royal Rumble of all time, Braun has been on a roll ever since he started his singles run.

It is surprising to note that the monster among men hasn't won the universal championship yet despite having dominated the raw locker room for the most part of last year. Braun has come close to winning his first universal title on one too many occasions but the monster among men is still distant of his first Universal title reign.

With Strowman out of the universal title picture at royal rumble, this gives the WWE ample time to plan out his journey all the way to Wrestlemania 35. The Monster among men is one of the top stars of the roster and the WWE board would surely be looking to use him in a major angle heading into the grandest stage of them all.

With a clash for the Universal title off the table at Royal Rumble, Braun might as well win the Rumble and go on to main event Wrestlemania.
