Matt Riddle, on the other hand, is still part of the WWE developmental brand, despite his enormous in-ring ability and talents.
Should WWE pull the trigger on moving Riddle over to the main roster for a debut feud against Goldberg, Riddle cannot afford to lose a quick squash match to the former WCW Champion in his first main roster feud.
Riddle is positioned in NXT as a legit fighter, wrestling shoeless and working a style that showcases both his strength and in-ring technique. Facing an opponent like Goldberg and losing the standard one-minute Goldberg match would do no good for a talent like Matt Riddle, who could be used on the WWE main roster in a more unique way than other talents.
Riddle has claimed in the past that he wants to be the one to take Brock Lesnar down in WWE, and should he lose his first main roster match quickly to Goldberg, his credibility as a challenger to The Beast would suffer dramatically.
