5 reasons why Sami Zayn should become Mr. Money in the Bank this year

Sami Zayn defeated Braun Strowman in a Falls Count Anywhere match last night on RAW, and subsequently took the Monster Among Men's spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Sami Zayn, the Underdog from Underground, is an exceptional addition to the ladder match, as he has performed exceedingly well in past ladder matches.

Sami Zayn returned from a year-long absence due to injury and debuted a new gimmick in April. He is essentially the anti-CM Punk, putting all the blame on the fans instead of the McMahon Family.

Sami Zayn participated in the WWE Championship match last week on SmackDown Live and was pinned by Kofi Kingston. However, his performance in the match propelled the WWE authorities to reward him with a spot in the ladder match.

Sami Zayn is arguably the most deserving superstar to win the ladder match, and go on to win the WWE or Universal Championship in future. We list five reasons why the Underdog from Underground must become Mr. Money in the Bank!

#5: Best wrestler on the roster

Sami Zayn has time and time again proven why he is the best
Sami Zayn has time and time again proven why he is the best

Sami Zayn's wrestling skills are not a secret to any wrestling follower, and Zayn has delivered high-quality match-ups on a consistent basis in WWE.

His matches in NXT with the likes of Neville, Owens, etc, followed by his main roster duels with Kevin Owens (again!), AJ Styles, etc, have asserted his phenomenal wrestling abilities.

Most of the Money in the Bank winners go on to win the World Championship and subsequently participate in the main-events of RAW, SmackDown, and PPVs. A man of Zayn's caliber will be a welcome addition to the main-event scene, and will help WWE to deliver quality match-ups every week!

#4: Charismatic Superstar

Sami Zayn was initially considered weak on the microphone. However, his mic skills have improved vastly over the last few years, and he has become an ultra-heel due to his fantastic promo skills.

Sami Zayn knows how to control a crowd, and how to sell his character to the audiences. In an era where mic skills are not appreciated as much as in-ring performances, Sami Zayn is a breath of fresh air!

#3: Never won anything in WWE

It is quite surprising and baffling to think that a man of Zayn's abilities has never won anything on the main roster. Zayn is a former NXT Champion, but he has not bagged any gold whatsoever on the main roster.

On the contrary, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn's "best friend", debuted around the same time as Sami and has won several championships. Zayn deserves a crowning moment, and the MITB is the right time to do so!

#2: MITB is for Heels

Seth Rollins was a tremendous Mr. MITB

Money in the Bank is one of the most interesting gimmick matches in WWE. Money in the Bank winners have traditionally been cowardly heels such as Alberto Del Rio, Edge, Seth Rollins, Baron Corbin, etc.

Sami Zayn's current character is made for a Money in the Bank moment. His promos and character work is reminiscent of Seth Rollins' 2015 run, and have made him one of the top heels on the roster.

The obnoxious and hateful Zayn winning the MITB, only to rub it in the faces of audiences, will make for good television every week.

#1: The inevitable Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn feud

Fight Forever!
Fight Forever!

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have a storied rivalry in WWE, from NXT to the main roster. Both of these superstars are currently heels, with Owens turning to the dark side last month after attacking Kofi Kingston.

Kevin Owens is currently scheduled to face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Imagine Owens finally winning the WWE Championship, only for Sami Zayn to cash in his MITB briefcase and win his first ever title in WWE!

These two superstars are destined to fight forever, and their rivalry should involve the WWE Championship sooner rather than later.
