Seth Rollins had made the Intercontinental Championship even more prestigious than the Universal Championship during his first reign with the belt. The fans were excited to see which superstar would challenge Rollins next.
The Architect had defended the championship on almost every continent of the planet and against every superstar who stepped up. The list of Rollins' opponents includes The Miz, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Mojo Rawley, Jinder Mahal, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and Elias.
This shows that the top tier superstars received a title shot and attained more relevance. Rollins can do the same with the Universal Championship and help improve the title's history.
