Not enough people seem to be watching SmackDown. And this is not anybody's fault but WWE's own because the blue brand has been portrayed as WWE's stepchild for far too long.
And with October fast approaching and Smackdown moving to a brand new network the numbers are very worrying to say the least. WWE's product has seen a constant decrease when it comes to viewership and somehow the current roster cannot connect with the audience of today, like the legends used to do in their prime.

I suppose that Shawn Michaels still has a great deal of goodwill and this means that his music playing on the speakers will ensure that more people tune in. He's just a great hand to have around because he's a legend, whom the fans still love with all their heart, to this day.
Michaels could be coming back for a ratings boost.
