This year's Survivor Series will take place on November 19, 2017, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and will be the thirty-first event under the Survivor Series chronology. The event will be one for the ages and all the matches have the potential to be epic. This is, therefore, shaping up to be an exciting show.

The matches already set in stone include Team Raw vs Team SmackDown with Triple H and John Cena being the latest inclusions to their respective teams. AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar was announced after the former defeated Jinder Mahal to capture the WWE title. Natalya and Charlotte Flair competed in the November 14 episode of SmackDown Live to determine who faces Bliss at Survivor Series with Charlotte winning to be the new SmackDown women's champion. Also, Baron Corbin faces The Miz at the event after defeating Sin Cara on SmackDown.

Here are five reasons why this Survivor Series will be the greatest show of 2017:

#5 Triple H in-ring return

Triple H made a shocking return this past Monday night on Raw to announce himself as the fifth and final member of Team Raw replacing Jason Jordan. He went further and gave Jason Jordan a pedigree as a helpless Kurt Angle watched.

Triple H last made a televised appearance at Wrestlemania 33 in a match against Seth Rollins. Since then he has wrestled at few SmackDown and Raw house shows. He also made a surprise independent appearance for Insane Championship Wrestling alongside Pete Dunne in a move that surprised the entire wrestling fraternity. It will be great to see Triple H lace his boots at a big event once again and fans are looking forward to seeing who will be on the receiving end of a pedigree.

#4 AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar

AJ Styles versus Brock Lesnar is a dream match set to take place in this year's Survivor Series. Styles defeated Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship, thereby earning the right to compete against Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series. WWE fans all around the world breathed the biggest sigh of relief when AJ Styles pinned Jinder Mahal to become a two-time WWE Champion since Mahal has not brought much excitement to the title.

Due to their conflicting wrestling styles, this will arguably be the biggest match of the night. Styles and Lesnar are two of the biggest stars in WWE right now and the fans are set to witness an epic encounter in what should be a match for the ages. Brock Lesnar is a brawler whereas AJ Styles is a technical wrestler and so this provides a good reason to anticipate for this match. It will be interesting to see who will have his hands raised after the bout. But irrespective of the outcome, this will be a once in a lifetime match and the WWE universe is looking forward to it.

#3 The Shield vs The New Day

The New Day invaded Raw On the November 6 episode of Raw, during Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins' Raw Tag Team Championship defence against Cesaro and Sheamus, by appearing in the crowd. The distraction was enough to cost the two members of The Shield their tag team titles and this past Monday on Raw The Shield officially challenged the New Day to a match at Survivor Series. The WWE went ahead and made this bout official in what should be a mouth-watering clash.

The match will present a battle for dominance between two of the most accomplished stables in the history of the WWE. The New Day is a four-time world tag team champions and boasts about having the longest tag team championship reign in WWE history at 483 days.

On the other hand, The Shield had an undefeated televised streak lasting from December 2012 to May 2013 making them one of the most dominant stables of all time. This match will, therefore, prove which stable is the most dominant. There is a great opportunity for this six-man tag team match to be the best match of the entire year. One team will reign supreme this Sunday but the match will have a lot of mayhem.

#2 Unpredictability

This year's Survivor Series is not easy to predict
This year's Survivor Series is not easy to predict

The 2017 Survivor Series is one of the most unpredictable shows in recent memory. With the event happening this Sunday, there has been a lot of shuffling and reshuffling of the match card. Two matches were set this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live as United States champion Baron Corbin defeated Sin Cara and will now face The Miz while Charlotte Flair beat Natalya for the SmackDown women's title and will be the one to face Alexa Bliss this Sunday.

The matches are shaping to be exciting and it is not easy to predict what will happen and how the matches will end. Could we see upsets, betrayals or even unexpected returns? Will the matches be the start of new feuds? In this year's event, it is also difficult to predict who will be the sole survivor of the Team Raw vs Team SmackDown match and who will be the last person eliminated in the respective teams. The unpredictability of the 2017 Survivor Series makes it a must-see event. A lot of things can happen and we may also be in for surprises this Sunday.

#1 Genesis for new feuds

Some superstars that don't see eye to eye will collide at Survivor Series

This year's Survivor Series will see members of the two brands face each other. Champions from each brand will go toe to toe against each other in some of the most anticipated matches ever. The WWE champion AJ Styles will face The Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and The Intercontinental Champion The Miz will face The United States Champion who won his match on the 14th November episode of SmackDown.

In the battle of the brands' match, Team Raw will face Team SmackDown. Triple H made a shocking return this past Monday to announce himself as the replacement for Jason Jordan. This move just added the much-needed excitement to the elimination match. The match will see The Team Raw comprising of Bray Wyatt, Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe, and Triple H take on Team SmackDown that will be represented by Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena.

Either member of Team Raw could face either member of Team SmackDown and tease a dream match-up. This could result in the brewing of new feuds. For instance, Triple H and Shane will collide, Angle and Cena will also have an encounter. Bobby Roode could have a bone to chew with Samoa Joe in the aftermath of the match among many more scenarios. New feuds that could culminate to a match at Wrestlemania is highly likely.
