Of course, there's always the possibility that Otis does not want to cash in the contract for the Tag Team Championships but instead aim straight for the Universal title. It is not unheard of, because Kofi Kingston was the WWE Champion even when he was a part of the New Day and Otis may follow suit in a very similar manner.

The difference between Kofi Kingston's reign and Otis' potential chase for the title is that there's a SmackDown hacker who's making note of everything that is happening in the WWE roster. And he could catch a frustrated Tucker who is upset at Otis and his popularity, which could lead to an Otis vs. Tucker feud on WWE SmackDown, going forward.
Whether it is Shawn Michaels and Triple H, or even Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, the fact of the matter is that Otis and Tucker are best friends and they have each other's best interests at heart. They will work hard to ensure that the other person is elevated too. A heel turn for Tucker may be the best thing to do for WWE Creative.
