Welcome to this week's edition of the Roman Reigns round-up, where we take a look at the news and rumors surrounding the WWE Universal Champion.

Once again, Roman Reigns has been a part of a lot of reports this week, but these are the top 5 regarding the latest on the Tribal Chief. From Kofi Kingston's praise for Reigns to the big plans WWE have for him at WrestleMania, we've got you covered.

Without further ado, here are the top news and rumors about Roman Reigns this week:

#5 - WWE NXT star promises to beat Roman Reigns

WWE NXT star Bron Breakker has promised to face Roman Reigns soon. The young superstar went on to claim he would beat the Tribal Chief as well during his recent interview with ViBe & Wrestling.

"I will fight Roman Reigns one day, for sure. I will beat him one day, too. As far as RAW goes, obviously Seth Rollins. There are just tons of guys between both brands. Bobby Lashley is another one. Big E is obviously WWE Champion right now. Drew McIntyre too," said Breakker. (H/T WrestlingInc)

Breakker is on the rise in WWE NXT and has already been pushed to the top card. While a move to the main roster could happen in the foreseeable future, a match with Roman Reigns might take some time, as there are a lot of superstars already waiting in line.

#4 - WrestleMania plans for Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns takes on Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1 on January 1st and reports suggest it will not be their last encounter. Dave Meltzer claims the match is set for a big finish, while some have predicted a double turn at the conclusion.

Speaking about the WrestleMania plans for Reigns, Meltzer added that the current idea is for Brock and Reigns to face each other once again at the show of all shows.

"It is not going to be the last Roman Reigns-Brock Lesnar match. Obviously, they are still planned for WrestleMania so that's the basic gist of it."

The addition of Brock vs. Reigns at WWE Day 1 has seen a rise in ticket sales, and WWE's gamble to push the match to the new pay-per-view over Royal Rumble seems to be paying off.

#3 - Why is Roman Reigns facing Brok Lesnar on WWE Day 1 and not at Royal Rumble?

WWE is looking to push Day 1 as one of their biggest pay-per-view of the year and they want to kick off the new show with a big main event. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar has been chosen this year and, as mentioned previously, it has helped in ticket sales.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the importance of WWE Day 1 inside WWE right now and said:

"The deal is Day 1 is obviously a Nick Khan idea for the idea of January 1st and the idea is not just this year doing it. The idea is that this will be a regular thing, a regular holiday tradition for WWE, January 1st pay-per-view. Historically, the December pay-per-view has never done well. It's always been one of the worst…when it comes to a holiday 1st or a January 1st show, a show like that historically either will do terrible because it's on a holiday if the lineup is not intriguing or it will do great because it's a holiday and holiday shows when you have a great lineup historically do very very well. So, to establish this as a traditional big show and the idea is to make this one of the biggest shows of the year, you need to establish it and Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns is the strongest match they got so that's the match that they chose to establish it. The feeling is that Royal Rumble didn't need it. They are trying to establish January 1st as one of the big shows of the year and so they are going to put their best match in there on the big show of the year."

WWE's plans for Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble are yet to be revealed as it depends on the result of his match against Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1.

#2 - Kofi Kingston on Roman Reigns

Kofi Kingston has heaped praise on Roman Reigns and claimed the WWE Universal Champion has taken himself to a new level. The former champion claims the potential was always visible from The Shield days, but the Tribal Chief role has been exceptional.

He told Milwaukee Radio Group's Don Black:

"Roman has taken his character to new heights. He's just so confident with himself out there and he's grown so much. You always knew when Roman was with The Shield, he was gonna be the guy. But him stepping into this Tribal Chief role, he plays it so well."

Kofi went on to praise Paul Heyman as well and claimed the advocate is the one helping Reigns elevate himself to new levels.

#1 - Kofi Kingston on The Bloodline

Kofi continued to talk about Reigns with Don Black and revealed his thoughts on The Bloodline.

"This is a powerful faction, man. It's really, really cool to see everybody come into their own, even The Usos. We've had a lot of rivalries with them and us. They are just so good, so talented, but they get better and better every time they step into the ring."

The New Day defeated both The Usos and RK-Bro in three-team action on this week's edition of Smackdown. It was a match that was billed as determining, 'The Best Tag Team in WWE Today'.

The Usos will defend their SmackDown tag-team titles against The New Day at WWE Day 1.
