WWE Superstar The Miz will reportedly be taking time off from SmackDown. He recently signed on to host Amazon Prime's reboot of American Gladiators. The A-Lister has been working with Carmelo Hayes over the last few months.
The veteran has tried to teach the former NXT Champion how things work on the main roster. Hayes has been receptive to a degree, but some recent miscommunication cost them a match.
If The Miz is set to take a brief hiatus from the ring, WWE will need to replace him somehow. The next five stars can replace the A-Lister on SmackDown.
WWE failed to hide these secrets - Check them out!
#5. Ron "R-Truth" Killings is back
If the Miz is taking time off, one easy way to replace him would be to have R-Truth fill his spot on SmackDown. The popular comedic star was let go but then rehired after a wave of fan support over the last week.
The former United States Champion appeared on RAW to essentially shift his character to a more serious version of Ron Killings.
He could interact with the new Bloodline or Carmelo Hayes as a more serious character but can still maintain a comedic line here and there. Truth is also a former tag partner of the Miz.
#4. Ricky Saints & #3. Tony D'Angelo could join SmackDown
If bookers are going to promote a star, Ricky Saints and Tony D'Angelo are two names that have been rumored recently for possible promotions.
Both men have some unfinished business to take care of in NXT as Saints is battling Ethan Page for the North American title. D’Angelo hasn’t figured out what’s going on with his friends and the D’Angelo family.
One or both could split time between SmackDown and NXT until their current angle is finished. It seems like one might be involved in a "Loser Leaves NXT" match. Why not get one of them on major TV screens ahead of that potential match?
#2. Trick Williams has already crossed brands
If bookers want to go back in Carmelo Hayes' history for a brief storyline, they could finally promote Trick Williams.
Williams is currently the TNA World Heavyweight Champion after shockingly winning the title from Joe Hendry at Battleground.
He could still appear on SmackDown while champion since he is also now a heel. The two can either team up or be at odds due to their complicated history. If it isn't Trick Willy, perhaps it's time to give Hendry some airtime on the main roster.
#1. Karrion Kross finally gets a proper spotlight
Things seemed to go downhill for Karrion Kross once the Miz and the Wyatt Sicks moved to SmackDown. A better way to remedy the situation would be to have Kross move to the blue brand.
He’s been relegated to brief backstage segments conversing with stars like AJ Styles and Sami Zayn. Kross could move to SmackDown and tell Carmelo Hayes that the Miz was using him, just like he has used several other stars.
Kross can then attempt to mentor the young star. He could then rekindle his feud with the Wyatt Sicks, possibly as a tag team since that is the faction's current focus.
