2) Rey Mysterio vs. Ricochet

This one might be a surprising entry for potential retirement matches for Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. The masked legend has been an inspiration and mentor to many high flyers throughout the years, but no one has taken the art form to the next level like Ricochet.

The two aerial experts have met in the past. Their most famous encounter came in Lucha Underground when Ricochet was Prince Puma. They headlined the second Ultima Lucha event in a thrilling main event. However, they have yet to face each other in WWE.

Mysterio passed the torch to Ricochet in a lot of ways. Still, the former NXT North American Champion can truly build his legacy in WWE by retiring the legendary Mexican star. It may go down as a WrestleMania classic remembered for years to come if they get the right amount of time.

1) Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio

Of course, this was the most likely option out of them all. Rey and Dominik Mysterio became the first father-son combination to win tag team gold in the promotion. Since losing the titles, the two superstars have teased dissension yet have stayed firm in their familial bond.

Dominik turning heel and targeting his legendary father at the Show of Shows would be just perfect. Rey has been trying to teach his son everything he knows to help groom him for a successful singles run. However, the Young Mysterio might feel that he is already where he needs to be and attack his father to set the stage for his final contest.

Rey vs. Dominik Mysterio might be the retirement match that the former WWE Champion really wants. Having his once-in-a-lifetime career ended at the hands of his own flesh and blood would be the most crushing loss for Mysterio. That's why Dominik Mysterio is the best possible opponent for Rey Mysterio in a retirement match at WrestleMania 38.
