5 roles for Hulk Hogan when he returns to WWE

Love him or hate him, it is impossible to deny that Hulk Hogan is perhaps the most important Superstar in the history of sports entertainment. When he slammed Andre the Giant on the mat, he made sports entertainment a phenomenon that captured hearts and minds worldwide.

Of course, while he was seen as a deity by some, he was, in essence, a human being. Hulk Hogan faltered as mortals do, making racist comments in a private video that was leaked online. He was thereafter erased from the history of the company.

It's now come to light, that three years later, Hulk Hogan and WWE are in conversation yet again. If Hulk Hogan were to return for another run, what would his role possibly be?

We explore five options, in this special feature.

#5 Ronda Rousey's manager

Could the Hulkster take over as Ronda Rousey's manager?
Could the Hulkster take over as Ronda Rousey's manager?

Ronda Rousey is perhaps the biggest Superstar signed to WWE at this point in time. However, one department that she's lacking it concerns her promo skills. As good as she was in the octagon, she's not nearly as competent in cutting compelling sports entertainment promos. Ronda Rousey needs a mouthpiece, fast!

Enter Hulk Hogan. One thing even his critics cannot accuse him of is being incompetent on the microphone. If anything, Hulk Hogan is perhaps the greatest performer ever to have cut a promo in WWE history, in the same league as Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk.

Rousey and Hogan may make an odd pairing at first, but considering that Rousey is a fan of the Golden Era of WWE, we can't see her being opposed to the idea.

Paul Heyman may seem like the ideal candidate to be Ronda Rousey's manager, but Hulk Hogan may also make for an interesting option.

#4 Shinsuke Nakamura's manager

The only constant in life is change. As great a champion AJ Styles has been (especially after the polarizing reign of Jinder Mahal), in all likelihood, Shinsuke Nakamura is destined to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. Nakamura is absolutely stellar between the ropes. His only drawback is his promo skills.

Unlike Ronda Rousey, English is not even Nakamura's first language. We all know that he does not lack in flamboyance, but when it comes to WWE's traditional definition of a world champion, we know that the top guy is always expected to be a good promo. Hulk Hogan could help Nakamura bridge that gap.

It might be a strange sight to see Hulk Hogan and Nakamura come to the ring together. However, considering how much charisma both men have, we're certain they could pull it off.

Whoever is aligned with Hogan could benefit in a really big way indeed.

#3 SmackDown Live General Manager

Could Hogan become the full-time replacement for Daniel Bryan?
Could Hogan become the full-time replacement for Daniel Bryan?

Last week, we saw Daniel Bryan announce that he had returned from injury and that he will be an active performer once again. This begs the question: who will replace this highly popular superstar?

Only one name comes to mind, really. Hulk Hogan is perhaps the only Superstar who can get a reaction that rivals Bryan's own. Plus, we have seen Hogan play an Authority figure in TNA, and did a commendable job.

Hogan would make a very different kind of authority figure when compared to SmackDown Live Commissioner Daniel Bryan. It may change the dynamics of the product and make it feel interesting.

Moreover, who knows what the equation between Shane McMahon and Hulk Hogan could possibly be?

#2 WrestleMania Host

What better way to kick off WrestleMania 34, than with the Hulkster?
What better way to kick off WrestleMania 34, than with the Hulkster?

Maybe Hulk Hogan is not destined to come back to WWE for a complete run. Maybe his role is a one-off appearance at WrestleMania 34 as the official host. Remember how The New Day hosted WrestleMania last year? Hulk Hogan can put a whole new spin on almost everything.

A sporadic appearance or two from Hogan could be better for him as opposed to having a full-time role. After all, absence does make the heart grow fonder. Plus, at his age, Hogan can probably not take bumps.

New Orleans would come unglued if Hulk Hogan were to return. He would make WrestleMania feel like a truly class A affair!

#1 Color commentator on RAW

Like we've said already, few can touch The Hulkster on the mic

Corey Graves performs double duty behind the commentary desk, on a weekly basis. To freshen up the product, and differentiate one brand from the other, Hulk Hogan may be the ideal candidate.

After all, nobody can accuse him of being a slouch when it comes to verbal skills. He may even bring back the excitement that was lost with Booker T's recent departure.

So there you have it folks. We could think of five roles for Hulk Hogan were he to return.

Which of them do you think will fit him best? Let us know in the comments.

Also, let us know if you have it in you to forgive him after his comments...
