5 rumors heading into WWE Monday Night Raw this week (4 March 2019)

Raw is heating up this week
Raw is heating up this week

The go home show of Raw before any WWE pay-per-view is usually an episode where you could expect the least important things to happen, as WWE has shown the WWE Universe over the last few months that these types of broadcasts are not high up on the priority list. But according to certain rumors that have been circulating the internet, this week's episode of Monday Night Raw could be the best one we have seen in months or maybe years.

Now, rumors are stories that are not 100 percent accurate, as most of the time WWE probably takes a look at the speculation on the internet and does the complete opposite just to swerve fans.

Nevertheless, this week's Raw rumors have given us some indication of what will go down on the show, from reunions to new champions being crowned, let's go through all the rumors concerning Raw this week.

#1 Batista to appear

Does he have your attention now?
Does he have your attention now?

Batista returned to Raw last week in absolutely shocking fashion, as the Animal made his way backstage and took out birthday boy Ric Flair to get the attention of his former Evolution buddy, Triple H. Triple H was infuriated by Batista's actions and sprinted backstage to get his hands on the Animal, but it was too late, as he was nowhere to be seen.

This was such a great booking decision by WWE for many reasons, as it was something no one really expected when WWE announced Flair's birthday celebration, and it was a genius move by the company to not announce Batista's return to Raw beforehand.

Therefore, with rumors going around that Batista could be on Raw this week as well, fans should get ready for another huge segment between the Evolution members.

#2 Finn Balor to meet his next opponent

Who could be in the champ's way?
Who could be in the champ's way?

The IC Title reign of Finn Balor has not been the groundbreaking run fans have been screaming about ever since Balor touched down on Raw in 2016, as having Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush as title contenders is never a good way to start a title run in a hot fashion. But it seems that could be changing for Balor, as rumors have indicated that Balor could be getting a new title challenger for Fastlane or WrestleMania on Raw this week.

This news seems plausible as if you take the other rumors of Bobby Lashley being involved on The Shield reunion narrative, it leaves Balor without a title contender for Fastlane and WrestleMania going forward.

So it seems possible that WWE would want to push one of their newest NXT call ups in this position, as a match with Balor could be the perfect thing to get them on a hot start on Raw.

#3 Charlotte to be handed the title?

Don't boo the woo!
Don't boo the woo!

Charlotte Flair is arguably the best heel in the WWE today, as in reality fans really do hate her presence in the main event scene, as she takes those career-defining opportunities from stars like Becky Lynch and Asuka.

In a kayfabe sort of sense, her fellow superstars hate her as well for being in the position she is in because of her father's success. Hated in reality, despised in the world of kayfabe, Charlotte Flair is the best heel in the company today, and it seems like WWE could be adorning the queen with more hate.

As people have been speculating that Ronda Rousey dropping her title on Raw could be more than what it seems, as many feel Vince McMahon could hand the title to Flair as he feels she is worthy enough to hold the title more than Becky or Ronda. This seems like something that could indeed happen, and if it does, its a brilliant move by WWE.

#4 The Shield to finally reunite

Yay?
Yay?

It seems we can't go one day without a rumor of The Shield getting back together on Raw, and it feels like that rumor won't stop bombarding our news feeds anytime soon.

It has been reported that Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins might be reuniting on Raw this week, and reports have also indicated that they will be in action at Fastlane.

At Fastlane, they will be taking on the trio of Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Bobby Lashley in a six-man tag team match. This was a match that was originally rumored for WrestleMania, but it seems WWE has moved things forward, and we are getting it at Fastlane.

While the Shield reuniting again is nothing special these days, at least something important will be happening on Raw this week. Besides, if other rumors prove to be true, we could be seeing two more superstars thrown into the mix at Fastlane.

#5 Strowman to join the Shield?

The only memories Braun has of the Shield
The only memories Braun has of the Shield

As crazy as this rumor may sound, it seems like it might just happen, as Braun Strowman joining the Shield at Fastlane to take on the team of Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Elias feels like a certainty at this point.

Braun has been a target of Team Corbin for the last few months, and at Elimination Chamber it was teased that he would be joining forces with a faction soon to take them out.

This might be a terrible decision by WWE if they go through with it, as Braun works well as a solo ass-kicker, but teaming with the Shield is not the worst thing in the world, as he is struggling right now to stay relevant in an ever-changing Raw landscape that is developing without him.

On the other hand, the Shield works better when the core members are in action, as the inclusion of Kurt Angle and Triple H in the past has seen the group feel watered down, but maybe Strowman can make this work.
