5 shock bookings for tonight's WWE SmackDown Live (19 February 2019)

Will Bryan want to defend his WWE Championship at Fastlane?
Will Bryan want to defend his WWE Championship at Fastlane?

There's no denying that 2019 has been such a rejuvenating year for professional wrestling. Whether it was the inception of All Elite Wrestling or Vince McMahon seeking someone with a Ruthless Aggression, the train that caters our professional wrestling fantasy seems to be on the right track.

Let's give the credit where it's due - WWE did an impeccable job in delivering a solid edition of Monday Night Raw, and while the reaction of the audience may have disrupted the internet wrestling community, the current direction feels promising.

After a blockbuster episode of the red brand, all eyes are on SmackDown Live tonight that has the right amount of depth to produce a fine wrestling episode with the right amount of entertainment.

With Elimination Chamber's brutally memorable main event seeing Kofi Kingston failing to get his hands on the WWE Championship, 'The New' Daniel Bryan will return to the blue brand with a possible answer to his next move for Fastlane.

I'm genuinely expecting WWE to announce some matches tonight, and with WrestleMania 35 getting the focal attention, there's also a realistic possibility that some of the NXT Superstars will make their presence known tonight.

So without further ado, let's dive deep and predict 5 bombshells WWE could drop on SmackDown Live tonight.

#1 The One and Only confronts The Phenomenal One for a potential dream encounter at WrestleMania 35

Ricochet was too sweet on Raw

As much as I refrain from saying this time and time again, this is a legitimate opportunity for WWE to book an absolute show stealer between Ricochet and AJ Styles.

With the former NXT North American Champion making waves and breaking the internet with his death-defying prowess, legions of WWE fans are yearning to see how the One and Only fares on the main roster.

Despite the fact that AJ Styles is unwilling to forget what Randy Orton did to him on SmackDown Live last week, diverting the Phenomenal One's attention to Ricochet could be something intriguing tonight.

Imagine these two getting on a collision course? This is a momentous time for WWE to break the glass ceiling and give the fans what they want, so they must push the envelope for this fantasy warfare tonight.

#2 Samoa Joe wins the Battle Royal to become the No 1 Contender for the WWE Championship

A jaw-dropping contest

It's a shame that Samoa Joe has not been provided with the spotlight he deserves and despite being such a proficient heel, he is still lacking a main event spot on the blue brand.

Consistency is a concern here. Not undervaluing the decisions of the creative team, but giving more time to evolve Joe as a ferocious villain on the blue brand could do wonders for him.

I genuinely liked his one-on-one's with Daniel Bryan inside the unforgiving Elimination Chamber, and it only coerced me to think that the company could literally book them in a solid feud which tells an absolutely stunning story between two heels.

While I would want to push the idea of pushing Kofi Kingston as the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 35, ascending Joe right now could make him a genuine threat to the Planet's Champion, Daniel Bryan.

It's about time the creative team and the management see Joe in a different light and propel him to the top of the mountain before they put his fortunes to sleep.

#3 Becky Lynch ruthlessly disarms Vince McMahon after the Chairman refuses to insert her in the main event

The Man will be on the hunt
The Man will be on the hunt

Since Vince McMahon has always wanted a superstar who steps up when the odds are stacked against them, Becky Lynch's recent propulsion on the main roster is a sight to see.

There's absolutely no superstar on the main roster or in NXT or anywhere on the globe who can outshine The Man's momentum heading into the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Considering that the Chairman has sidelined Becky from her dream at WrestleMania 35, seeing these two confront each other tonight would be icing on the cake.

With the Relentless One willing to demolish what stands in her way, the Anti-Authority rebel could take the matter in her own hands again and disarm the Boss.

An angle of this magnitude would only propel Becky to a different stratosphere in the women's division, and rightfully so.

Since Vince is speculated to be very high on Becky Lynch, he would be willing to take a beating of his life to get The Man to unimaginable heights in front of a global WWE audience.

#4 Xavier Woods and Big E Langston brutalize Kofi Kingston and condemn his Road to WrestleMania 35

Kofi deserves the spotlight
Kofi deserves the spotlight

There's absolutely no denying that Kofi Kingston's superlative performance at the Elimination Chamber and last week's SmackDown Live has ascended him in the eyes of the WWE Universe.

While the New Day has been an incredibly popular act in the entire WWE, Kofi's recent push to the main event picture may very well be an interesting way to write the next chapter in the faction's story.

Since there have always been speculations of the path-breaking faction turning on each other, tonight could be the night when Vince McMahon finally decides to pull the trigger and legitimately shock us.

The fans have gravitated their attention towards Kingston and want to see him walk out of WrestleMania 35 as the WWE Champion, which only paves the way for both Xavier Woods and Big E Langston to possibly turn on him.

Do you think we may finally see The New Day collapse in front of our very eyes tonight? If there's a way to propel Kofi to a different dimension on the blue brand, it is the implosion of the New Day.

#5 'The New' Daniel Bryan teams up with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to lock horns with The New Day

This would be interesting before the implosion
This would be interesting before the implosion

Before the New Day finally collapses in front of our very eyes, the creative team has an interesting opportunity to give us a fantastic dream match on SmackDown Live tonight.

With 'The New' Daniel Bryan running riot on the blue brand with his incredibly creative heel antics, joining forces with the new NXT Call-ups in Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Wrestling could very well keep us hooked to the edge of our seats.

There's no denying that SmackDown Live has remained pivotal in delivering some of the most monumental bouts in WWE history and this one could be damn near perfect.

An opportunity of this stature will bring more casual eyes on these two NXT sensations and since both superstars are enacting such complex characters, they can fit really well with the eco-friendly WWE Champion.

While legions of fans may not think that imploding the New Day is the right idea tonight, a post-match fallout could literally pave the way for something shocking.
