WWE could be considering giving SmackDown Live a major boost.

Come October, Raw won’t be WWE’s flagship show anymore as SmackDown will move to Friday nights on the Fox Network, which is projected to garner larger viewership figures than the red brand.

It’s a big deal as the WWE will reportedly make nearly $540 million each year until the deal expires in 2021. Fox needed a replacement for UFC, which moved to ESPN recently and WWE was the next best bet. The shift of networks is also expected to bring about a change in the product, as the programming could be more sports-oriented and edgy in nature.

WWE has a lot riding on this deal and a failure to make waves on Fox would prove to be a big blow for the company.

Fox has already reportedly asked WWE to have Ronda Rousey on SmackDown and we would not be surprised to see Brock Lesnar too making appearances on the blue brand to boost its ratings.

As mentioned, there’s a lot on the line and WWE wouldn’t want to take any chances with the new experiment.
