At Sportskeeda, we have readers from all across the world- The United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, India, Australia, The Middle East, Pakistan, and so many other places. And the reason that pro wrestling became such a global phenomenon is because of a certain gentleman named Hulk Hogan who put sports entertainment on the map.
But times changed and the product got edgier to the point where, in the 90s, the same audience that had backed Hulk Hogan all the way to the top began to turn on him. And this is where Hulk Hogan decided to embrace his dark side in WCW when he joined Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to form the nWo, arguably the most dominant faction in wrestling.
I think that John Cena has been in the same boat for far longer, with fans wanting him to turn heel for a significantly longer period of time. And the tease of nWo Cena was a clear indication that we may be in for a heel turn at some point in the near future.
