WWE has very few Superstars that are still a part of the roster and have such a rich heritage as Rey Mysterio does. Mysterio has been in the Pro-Wrestling industry for over 30 years and is someone who people gather to watch. He is WWE's daredevil and has done his bit in putting over Superstars as well as taking insane bumps.

In the situation that WWE is in, it wouldn't want to write off or not have a Superstar such as Mysterio in its hands. Mysterio is a Superstar who is willing to go the distance for the industry and will make sure that he does whatever he can to come out and perform in front of the fans.
Mysterio can be added to any match with any stipulation and WWE fans will never complain because he is adored by the wrestling community.
