Where does The Beast rank on this list?

Professional wrestling has evolved a lot over the years and decades. The business has gone from being about mat wrestling to strength to storytelling to technical skill and now, a combination of all of the above. But, for all of the different aspects of sports entertainment, strength remains one of the key elements and a sure fire way of building up someone as a legitimate threat is to show off their power.

Just look at how the WWE has built Braun Strowman into a true Monster Among Men and tell me I'm wrong. While there is a greater focus towards smaller performers like AJ Styles, they are still few and far between. If you're strong, you have a huge chance of success in the WWE. It's just the way the things work in Vince McMahon's house of big muscled men.

With that in mind, we're here to celebrate the five most powerful men in the company at present. So, without any further ado, here are the 5 strongest professional wrestlers in the WWE today:

#5 John Cena

John Cena is a freak of nature. A former bodybuilder, he has never forgotten his roots. Even today, as one of the most celebrated professional wrestlers of all-time, his major focus is on his strength. You can just see what sort of shape he's in even when he returns after months away from in-ring work.

Cena has an impressive bench press at 465 pounds but that's just the tip of the ice berg. What really earns him a place on this list is his incredible displays of power during his time inside the squared circle. The things the Leader of the Cenation does absolutely defy belief.

After all, who can forget him picking up both Edge and The Big Show at the same time? Say what you will about John Cena, there is no denying the fact that he is one of the strongest performers to ever step foot inside the squared circle.

#4 Braun Strowman

Next up on this list is the man whose strength has made him a force to be reckoned with in 2017 — Braun Strowman. As we said in our intro, Braun has quickly been established as a true Monster Among Men with some incredible feats of strength that are rarely seen in the world of professional wrestling.

Just from an on-screen angle alone, he has decimated The Big Show on multiple occasions, lifting up The World's Largest Athlete with ease and while it may have been staged, his ambulance spot against Roman Reigns was jaw-dropping, to say the least.

Strowman's strength comes from a combination of things. The first is obviously his mammoth size. But, he has worked to improve on his natural size by shedding a lot of weight and putting on an epic amount of muscle in its place. Strowman is also a former Strongman Competitor, so you know that he's no joke.

#3 Brock Lesnar

You know this list has impressive names on it when Brock Lesnar comes in only at number three. But, that's no small feat considering just how impressive The Beast Incarnate actually is. He is a true genetic freak of nature who can probably maul cities all by himself if given a reason to do so.

While it's unconfirmed, there have been reports that Brock has managed a bench press of over 600 pounds and a squat of over a 1000 pounds. Regardless of this being true or not, it still paints one hell of an impressive picture of the guy.

Add to all this his superb in-ring work where he has easily lifted and dismantled the likes of The Big Show and Mark Henry and you have on your hands one monstrously strong Conqueror.

#2 Big E

When you look at Big E, it's easy to see only the fun loving member of The New Day and forget what an absolute monster he really is. The big man of the record breaking tag team trio is one of the strongest men in the company today as evidenced by his monstrous workouts - especially on the bench press.

When asked about his bench presses, Big E has stated this his highest is 575 pounds raw. No one in the entire WWE locker room has claimed to be able to beat that mark. Cesaro and John Cena — both supremely strong wrestlers in their own right — have given authenticity to the former NXT Champion's claims.

Cena and Cesaro have both stated that he is the most impressive bench presser they have ever witnessed. So, next time you look at the former Mr Langston goofing around with The New Day, remember how impressive he actually is.

#1 Cesaro

Number one on our list is someone that no someone immediately thinks of when the word strength is mentioned. But, there is no denying the fact that Cesaro is one of the strongest athletes to ever step foot inside a WWE ring. It's easy to forget just how strong he is when you combine that with his incredible athleticism.

He has been called pound for pound the most powerful wrestler in the company and it's easy to see why. He has a superb workout routine that you can see above where he showcases his supreme strength.

And, don't forget those Airplane Swings that The Swiss Cyborg originally became famous for.
