The rapid rise of Brock Lesnar throughout 2002 continued into 2003, where he was pitted against Kurt Angle in the main event of WrestleMania 19.

During the match, Brock tried to pull off a move he had done many times before in OVW, the Shooting Star Press. Unfortunately, Kurt Angle was too far away from him to connect properly, which resulted in him landing awkwardly.

Fans gasped as they saw Brock nearly break his neck. Lesnar was dazed but, through sheer instinct, continued and won the match, delivering an F-5 to Kurt Angle to win the WWE Championship.

It was a scary moment that could have ended Brock Lesnar's career. Thankfully, he recovered and went on to have another impressive year in 2003.

Randy Orton started to bleed so prefusely that he required a number of stitches when he returned backstage. It even caused Chris Jericho to exchange heated words with personnel backstage and with Brock Lesnar himself about the incident.
