AJ Styles and Ricochet are both settling into new roles on WWE TV, with Ricochet being pushed as a fresh, top face on the Raw brand, and Styles reuniting with The Club to become one of the red brand's newest heels.

At WWE Extreme Rules, the veteran AJ Styles was able to pick up a victory over the defending Champion Ricochet, to earn the WWE United States Title.

The bout was not without "controversy", however, as Luke Gallows interfered on behalf of AJ Styles at the end of the Extreme Rules match and attacked Ricochet when the referee was not looking. The attack allowed Styles to hit the Styles Clash for the match and US Title win.

Given the circumstances surrounding AJ Styles' Title win at Extreme Rules, it seems likely that Ricochet will earn a shot at regaining his United States Title at WWE SummerSlam next month.
