#4 The Miz
The Miz has never been the most popular Superstar on the roster, especially since he has spent a good portion of his career as a heel, but all that changed in the spring of 2019. Interestingly enough, WWE decided to turn him babyface for the first time in what felt like years and have his former tag team partner, Shane McMahon, turn on him.
Not only did this generate a lot of heat for Shane, who would then go on to rule SmackDown with an iron fist, it would actually make the fans sympathize with The Miz. The fans even went so far as to emphatically cheer for him whenever he made an appearance, which seemed to point to a successful run as a babyface.
Unfortunately for The Miz, he would get lost in the shuffle shortly after his babyface run began and wound up facing Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 35. Now there are two problems with this and these are most likely the reasons that The Miz's popularity isn't what it probably should have been.
The first problem is that McMahon versus The Miz ended controversially, as The Miz suplexed Shane from a platform into a piece of the set, but because Shane landed on top of Miz, he ended up getting the pinfall victory in the Falls Count Antywhere match. Although the moment had an Attitude Era feel to it, the fact that he ended up losing what was essentially a fluke victory fror McMahon really made The Miz's efforts throughout the last month look fruitless.
The second problem with the whole thing is that some were pegging him to be the one to face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 and finally get the victory he should have had years ago. This would never culminate however, which once again left The Miz failing to live up to expectations.
The Miz was pretty much a background character moving forward and although he did have some memorable moments, he has come up short too many times for fans to want to get invested in him again. Maybe that will change in the future, but he just seems to have fallen completely flat at this point.
