5 superstars that should answer Seth Rollins' IC Title open challenge on Raw this week

Who could answer the call?
Who could answer the call?

Seth Rollins has been one of WWE's most consistent performers ever since he was promoted to the main roster and it is without a doubt that he has been Raw's brightest light in its darkest days this year, as the show has continued to decline in quality and creativity.

Moreover, with rumors going around that Rollins could be the next superstar to step up to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 for the Universal Title, it just seems as if WWE has found their next big babyface in the company.

But, before Rollins gets to WrestleMania or even the to Royal Rumble to make that rumor of going back to the main event come true he has to get through his biggest challenge to date, his former Shield brethren Dean Ambrose.

At TLC 2018, Rollins will defend his Intercontinental Title against Ambrose, but even before that Rollins has made the decision to once again bring back his open challenge for his title, as he feels this is the only way for him to prepare for Ambrose at TLC 2018, so who could answer the call?

#1 Bray Wyatt

Could this be Wyatt's rejuvenation?
Could this be Wyatt's rejuvenation?

Wyatt has been one of WWE's most memorable stars of the last few years, as the man crafted a unique gimmick that resonated with fans and critics alike, but WWE's use of the big man has caused his credibility to take a huge hit.

And after taking a long hiatus this year, Wyatt had returned this past weekend at WWE's Starcade event, as Wyatt answered Baron Corbin's open challenge and beat him.

Therefore, the likeliness of Wyatt answering Rollins challenge is quite high, and this would be a perfect way for WWE to bring him back into the fold, maybe capturing the IC Title could propel his career back to the heights it once soared at.

#2 Finn Balor

Finn Balor could use this momentum.
Finn Balor could use this momentum.

Finn Balor has had a rough patch ever since he got injured at SummerSlam 2016 and coincidentally that was the greatest night of his WWE career as he became the first man in WWE history to hold the Universal Title.

But ever since then Balor has been scraping the bottom of the barrel as management has had no concrete plans for Balor ever since his SummerSlam victory.

Therefore, Balor answering Rollins challenge could be a great decision by WWE has these two men have proved in the past that they have what it takes to craft a special match, so if WWE's looking for a great main event for this week's edition of Raw or even a great opener Balor vs Rollins would be their best bet.

#3 Bobby Roode

Roode vs Rollins would be a fresh match.
Roode vs Rollins would be a fresh match.

Bobby Roode has not had the best career in a WWE ring, and ever since he debuted on SmackDown Live all the way back in 2017, the WWE creative team made the odd decision of making Roode's theme song more popular than the man, and it sadly all went downhill from there. Roode's character was neglected, his narratives were lacking creativity, and his opponents were genetic.

But on Raw, there was a glimmer of hope as many believe that Bobby Roode could rejuvenate his career as his alliance up with Chad Gable was a stepping stone in the right direction to get his character back in alignment with his former NXT persona, but that was a bust as well. So if anyone needs to actually answer Seth Rollins challenge, it would be Roode, as it would be a fresh match that elevates Roode.

#4 A 205 Live superstar

Can WWE just realize already that the Cruiserweights can rejuvenate Raw?
Can WWE just realize already that the Cruiserweights can rejuvenate Raw?

This may not come as a surprise to you but WWE superstars are in serious need of fresh competition, as repetitive matches on Raw and even Smackdown Live have caused the product to decline. And while some may say it boils down to the fact that WWE's rosters are not as exciting as they once were, there is a specific group of superstars that WWE has in the palm of their hand to make the Raw roster exhilarating again, they are the cruiserweights.

Talent such as Mustafa Ali Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy could produce A+ matches on the flagship show and if WWE really wants those superstars to succeed they should be the ones answering challenges like the one Rollins has laid out. This will give them more exposure to the wider WWE audience, and it could drive any one of their careers forward.

#5 Bobby Lashley

Lashley is money.
Lashley is money.

When Bobby Lashley returned to the WWE after so many years, the WWE Universe expected him to be an unrivaled force that takes the company by storm, but a few bad booking decisions later and Bobby was another bland babyface. But ever since WWE paired him up with Lio Rush and turned the big man heel, his credibility has received quite a significant boost of momentum.

This could be building blocks for a big push for Lashley as WWE have made him into the invincible badass that he should have been built as from the beginning. Moreover, this could see him being propelled into the title scene on Raw has he could be the man the WWE chooses to be the next Intercontinental Champion after Rollins moves on to bigger things. So why not do it now?
